actually, im glad kevin max is not in this video, he is really weird now, he smokes cigars and has adopted this weird johnny depp look... i dont know, he also sings secular music now and writes poetry that makes you think he's not a real christian anymore :/

I LOVE this song. DC Talk sounds better live, but recorded, KJ is better, and KJ and Toby are both a tie live.

@JesusFreak77753 OK. Of course the song is better w/ him (it would be better with all 3 together). I agree the only one's who should sing is DCtalk and yes, KJ52 is not a good option for this song. However, my point was that T-mac is, of the 3, the least talented. He's not a vocalist like the other 2, nor is he as creative as Kevin Max. Mac has skills in terms of doing a bunch of "what"s, "uh"s and "yeah"s over a track geared at jr. high kids, but not much else. No biggie, I wont vote you down!

@skeene777 I disagree and agree with your statement , yes the song sounds better with kmax , tait and tobymac but to say toby is the lesser of the three is false. He wrote basically all of their songs until supernatural and he`s the sole reason for dctalk`s success. And yes we need a reunion

@jayal101313 We can discuss who's the "lesser" of the 3 all day, but I don't think thats the issue. I think it basically comes down to vocal ability and creative content. TMac simply isn't as strong a vocalist as Tait, nor is he as creative as KMax. Now, if the issue is producing music that is palpable to Jr. High kids and beats that are fun and make you want to dance (but still very predictable and not as creative, or as musically advanced, as the other two), TMac has a corner on that market.

Love it when artists collaborate! Newsboys, Tait & TobyMac are all super-talented & passionate, so I have no problem w/ them working together, sharing the stage, sharing songs. Newsboys have had a bit of turnover of band members through the years, but never affected the quality of their performance. An American frontman is a biggish change, but his voice is a good fit for their current style. The backing of Jesus Freak sounded amazing, as good as I remember from the Jesus Freak tour.

Couldn't agree with you more uncletomgrace. Many band members use songs from their bands when they go solo. Look at Paul Coleman and Phil Joel. They both still sing old Newsboys songs on their tours.

(Part two) As for Toby showing up on stage without Kevin...I don't know what Kevin said on dctalkunite, BUT....back in the fall of 2002, Toby Mac co-headlined Festival Con Dios ......I was at the concert in Grand Rapids, MI and guess who walked out in the middle of Toby's set?? KEVIN MAX (Smith). He happened to be in Grand Rapids (his hometown), and surprised the crowd by walking out on stage and joining Toby in some old school DcTalk . What's good for the goose....

(Part one) I am also a DcTalk fan, and I couldn't disagree more with ndsapp25's opinion... Toby has used LOTS of DcTalk songs(including Jesus Freak) in his concerts, and everyone loves them. Why should Michael deny his musical past just because he joined the Newsboys?

Toby Mac, Kevin Max, and Michael Tait have all used DC Talk songs under their SOLO albumns which is fine (they are Dc Talk and have the rights). Newsboys is a seperate band who should stick to their own music and find a new lead singer. Tait lost much of my respect for him when he signed to be their lead singer.
