Sweet! You know, of course, that by early 2010 Horizon Air will be an all-Q400 fleet, right? The 8-200s are already out, being dry-leased to another carrier and the CRJs will be history as well.
In the "ATW Daily News" section of Air Transport World magazine, 1 July 2008, Horizon Air issued a statement that its fleet will be entirely Q400. All the 200s are being dry-leased to CommutAir and the CRJs will be completely out of service by April of 2010, disposition unknown. This is on record.
@Apollo580: whoa, I said an all-Q400 fleet. Horizon Air themselves announced it. The reasons why: cheaper to procure, they carry comparable pax/bag load, more seat-miles-per-gallon, plus near-jet speed coupled with quicker turnarounds mean keeping a jet-based schedule. Cheaper maintenance is a big factor as well. There's rumour they want to stretch the Q400, but that's all it is right now: rumour. There's not much they can add onto the plane.
Cougars are the lowest form of pussy the Huskies get. After those skanks are kicked to the curb after each game we slaughter them at...the Huskies get all the good lookin' gals. Cougars just get their own hands.
Horizon BLOWS! Wow great idea to paint em' then sell em'.....real fuc---- smart. I do hear that turboprops are the future...Hey Jeffey where is my fuc---- mug you bitch? All these years as a pilot for QX and a fuc---- mug? Gene put down the donut!!
I had the horrible misfortune of having to ride on this pathetic excuse for an airplane. The entire flight I was filled with fear that the pilots would take me to hell on earth, aka Pullman. I wish that someone would take it to a field and destroy it so no one has the displeasure of having to fly on or see this aeronautical scar in any airport again.
I saw your mention of Republic Airlines. That line had been absorbed by NWA some years back. I guess I will have to put up some pic postcards of that grouping. I have a couple of cards showing the same dc9 in different colors. Yeah, gotta do that. :)
ok, one never knows about these hookups. Horizon currently, at least in Sep last year, has/had an arrangement with Alaska Airlines. I see in 9news online (denver) that Frontier is in bankruptcy. Too bad because it's a nice airline. If oil prices keeps going up, what will the big time ceos ride around in? :)
Horizon is owned by the Alaska Air Group. The deals and agreements in the industry are confusing most of the time. Frontier has filed for bankruptcy protection but it will still be operating. They seem to know what their doing and I would be surprised to see them close shop anytime soon. But then again, you never know.

How do you give a Cougar purpose in life? Tip him when he delivers your pizza.
Why are there no halftimes at Cougar football games? Because the cheerleaders were grazing on the fields.

No, they do not. It is cost-ineffective and they were made to be disposable. They're trash after being painted over anyway.

nice video but I think we won't see that jet in Big 10 country lol :)
looks to me as if Frontier sold their regional to Horizon or maybe it was a leased aircraft. Still, a fun video and great idea for it !!! :)

Horizon operated Frontier Express up until a few months ago. It has always been a Horizon aircraft.
