@gman5852 Tap your toe to the tempo: if you can't keep a steady tempo, listen to the background ticking. Also, you may not be holding the notes out at there required time ( the timing you play it with the song is quarter note, eighth note, eighth note, half note). If your still confused, talk to someone who knows about music, or check the Internet.

@Southparknscrubs Same. The whole duet thing is bad design at its finest. Combine a rhythm based challenge with a double dose of gimmicky controls. This should have never left the design board.
