@SpyroandCyndersfan It's extinct in the wild. A bird that exists only in captivity is still extinct in the wild. There is a sheik in Quatar who breeds them, but what difference does it make if they don't exist in the wild?
@SpyroandCyndersfan No, they don't. Sanctuaries are not allowed to set them free. Birds born in captivity cannot survive in the wild. There has never been a successful reintroduction of captive-born parrots into the wild. Either your friend doesn't know what she is talking about or she is flat-out lying.
I agree so much with the philosophy here. There is a big bird store near me, THOUSANDS of birds for sale...then they have this room way at the back of the store for "consignment" parrots - meaning they have been dumped there by their owners to be put up for sale. You walk by their cages and they talk to you, put their little feet out between the bars, desperate for contact, attention, love - it's heartbreaking. Makes me FURIOUS.
when i first saw this a couldnt stop pushing the like button. i cant beleive how people treat these poor birds. they treat them like there nothing!!!! its so sad:(
@july7nyc Of course,I take it to my home.I think, somebody open the window and the bird fly away (because in Saint-Petersburg summer was very hot ). And I find it. My parrot don't afraid me. It is always sitting on my head or on my arm.My parrot hate the cell, and I let him fly everywhere in my room.)))))
Tell me please,If i go to the worm country and get him free, is it ok? or it's dangerous for parrot ? Sorry for my english.
@Radistochka No, please don't let him free. It's very dangerous and the parrot would die. They need to be with other parrots of their own kind to live wild. He will not know how to get food or avoid danger and if he did not die from no food, he would probably get eaten by a hawk or other predatory animal. He seems to like you and you are treating him well so just continue what you are doing. Make sure to give him fresh fruit and vegetables. They love apples. :)
@Radistochka Hi, I just want to say that, if your parrot is the same parrot that Monster, it is an Argentinian Parrot, I just cant believe that it could be one in Russia, it very amazing to me, and really worring too. Im from Argentina, that why I know them, if the parrot have confidence whit you, keep it for you, and don´t worry, they addap to any weather if they are properly feed. Take care of one our nacional symbols!!!!
it is not fair on the parrots that have their wings clipt to sto it from flying you would not like it if some one snapt the bonein your leg so you cant walk!!! i would like to foster a parrot but my house is not its naturel habitat is it but i will foster parrots to save them from cruelty its gust not fair
That is one of the cruelest videos on youtube. That acutally shows that profit does not stop for the beautiful wonders of the nature. One should invest to keep the natural habitats of that birds and not killing their life grounds and keep them as toys. I wish this one has more views.
I've got two rainbow lorikeets. They both gotkicked out of their nest in our palm tree, in which Starlings also reside. They are now our pets. We clean their cage every day, and their wings are NOT clipped. We let them out for a play once a day, and the go in the cage when they want a feed or drink. Bath-wise, we have bought a bird-bath, but they prefer their water trough for that. They have a good life, and get along with each other well. All this depends on who fosters the parrot.
@MrGamerEntertainment me too :) but i let fly around and i dont keep it in a cage and myn loves to be with me !!! it flys around outside and i dnt clip its wings :)
I swear if I saw anyone mistreating an animal like that I wouldn't be responsible for my actions. Keep up the good work! I have two budgies and I let them out to fly everyday.
I'm really touched by this video. I too find it cruel to cage up parrots like that-and look at all their missing feathers!!! poor little creatures :'(

My parents bought one too, because they didn't know back then what is done to those poor birds. But he still lives happy with us and at his old days he became at least a little bit tame. But we still have to watch our fingers xD bad bird, aren't you? >->
our rainbow lorikeet adopted us after being mistreated, just landed at our doorstep after getting out, he had no clue how to live in the wild. Now after some good care he doesn't need us to even leave him out any food. He just flies off with the others in the morning and keeps choosing to return every other day.
One thing that annoys me is that people don't take their birds outside, so many die of not receiving enough vitamin D. Which they only get from sunlight.
I am in Australia and we have some of the most amazing parrots it is depressing to see them cooped up like that I have a lorikeet who pretty much has free run of my house, and is only in his cage at night to prevent the cats making a meal out of him

Very sad. I agree with the other post, as a parrot owner of 15 years, I understand now they should not be kept as pets. People think they are easier than dogs or cats, they are much more difficult in some ways. I've made the commitment to mine and I'll never abandon him, he has it pretty good, but other parrots do not. Many humans are cruel and selfish when their patience runs out and the parrot is no longer a cute, novelty pet and becomes a challenge in it's adult stage. Sad but true.
i am 10 years old and i have more than 5000 realy 5000 rescued and own ones i realy feal sorry for foster parrots they should actully be happy in the wild flying arond i just made up some thing they asked a parrot would you want to be in a golden cage or in the wild the parrot said in the wild .i have got alot of birds and they havent seen the out door they cant live out doors so please give your parrots a big cage
@vaporeon333xxx - It is extinct in the wild. Yes, there are a few left in captivity (70-80 - don't have the exact numbers), but they have not yet made a succesful reintroduction. They were going to use that last wild male as a teacher to the birds they released, but then he disappeared.
All you wing clippers watch this movie (Paulie) at 1:20 and tell me it's still right to clip bird's wings. watch?v=WRKBBjgLfaY Yes I'm aware it's just a movie, but see for yourself what you are denying the bird in the long run.
i have a parakeet and i absoloutley love birds.the only time he is in his cage is to sleep or when im out somewhere like school.i keep his wings slightly clipped so he can get where he needs to but i only keep them clipped is because he always flies off and hurts himself.he is still happy with it and can get anywhere he needs to, but he cant get anywhere he can get hurt like the stove
And i'm not talking about birds beings transport inhumanly like in this video that were dispatch from the wild, i'm talking about bird that where born in breeders. And birds aren't so afraid of human. When i went to brasil, there was a lot of parrots and they were always hanging around the campus. I think there's a balance everywhere and just stop breading parrots will be exagerated.
Plus, there are ethical ways to do and unethical way to do thing.
I don't agree with people keeping their parrots in their cage all they long this makes no sense it's treating animal like object. But trainer who take really good care of parrots makes them learn how to speak feed them properly give them time and love. They don't have to liberty de fly along the jungle but on the other hand they aren't eaten alive but some carnivorous creature.
One thing that grinds my gears about many bird owners: They either keep birds cooped in cages for the rest of their lives or clip their wings so they can't fly. What is the point of doing this? Birds are meant to fly around. If you don't want a pet that flies, get another pet like a dog or hamster. Crippling a bird like that makes me sad. I let my birds fly around wherever they want, even outside.
@tiennumidori1 I know. In the UK it's considered animal cruelty to clip a birds wings. The U.S. thinks it's the best country in the world, but we're behind on many things. Animal rights is one of them. I would never clip my birds wings or confine them to cages throughout their lives. My birds only have cages to eat and go in and out as they please. I have branches hanging from the ceiling and perches everywhere.
@tiennumidori1 Well the reason people clip their birds wings is for their own safety..would you rather them fly into a window or mirror and break their necks? Clipping a birds wings is not crippling them and if done properly is not painful at all to the bird whatsoever.. its like you clipping your fingernails.... if you don't believe me ask any avian vet and they will tell you the exact same thing!
@crazed4lovebirds That's an easily remedied problem: Just cover the windows and mirrors in the area where the bird will be in. Clipping a bird's wings is certainly crippling. It robs the bird of what it's meant to do, flying. Clipping our fingernails does not hinder us in any way while clipping the flight feathers of a bird cripples it. If you don't want a pet that flies, get something else like a hamster. Birds are meant to experience freedom in flying.
@crazed4lovebirds What is the point of keeping a bird if you don't let it fly? It just means you want to keep the bird like a decorative item with a price tag. The only time it's acceptable to clip a bird's wings is when you try to tame and socialize him, so he doesn't fly away in terror when you try to get him to a simple step up on your finger.
so u talking about parrots u are right thay are wild birds so if u dont agree with it than dont go to zoo couse it the same thang wild animals for a show it not human to do that i love animals but there not to be keep in cattivie thay shood be able to run free in the life not caged up
I do own parrots and after several years I have grown to understand that no they should not be pets. Even though they get hours of free time and are free flying in my home it is not their natural environment and in a way they still suffer. At the same time if I did NOT have them as pets I would not come to that realization... There needs to be a ban from all developed countries to prevent the import of exotic birds or any wild caught species of animal.
@bab4 I agree. I also agree the pet industry should stop breeding and selling parrots as pets. Period. It's not just about the ones captured in the wild, but the ones bred in captivity are still WILD. It just means they would never be able to survive in the wild. And I was the same as you- I came to the realization on my own after getting my first parrot and the more I learned about them, the more I felt it was not right. Now I try to advocate for them.
@july7nyc Besides wild pets even domesticated animals suffer in human presence. In any sense of owning an animal of any sort the animal always gets the short end of the stick. When living things are seen as possessions that's going to be bad. I can't wait till we can get to the point when people can get robot pets that are as good as the real thing. Maybe only then can this cycle of animal suffering be broken. The technology for this is thankfully right around the corner.
@july7nyc I said MORE ethical, completely unrelated to ethical
I agree with you, but don't you agree with me too? I mean, your counter argument was actually not relevant on my statement, I even would say the same!
@khaza1wolfgurl Oh really? So you believe that golden retrievers and poodles and fluffy the long-haired cat were once roaming the jungle? Do some basic research on the domestication of animals. Dogs, cats, cows, and other domesticated animals are completely different animals than their wild counterparts and these animals never existed in the wild. Parrots are not domesticated at all. They are all 100% wild, as are tigers, elephants, gorillas, and all the animals that exist and live in the wild.
I think their should be bird licences through out the cities of america you must have a permit in order to keep a parrot then people would rethink about buying a bird that requires you to buy a 1000 permit birds are bought on impulse and just put to the side like a decorative item
i never clipped my birds wings because i think that the should have the freedom of flight thats why i let my parakeet and cockateil fly in my house or my room to get some cardiovascular exercise, plus they love whistle along with me!
i own a quaker parrot, and he doesnt live in a cage, except at night, and he actually wants to go inside, its his lil home, his bed...we are bonded to each other. our trust is so deep, i take him outside in the summer, on my shoulder, wings not clipped, and he wont fly off, he preens my ear :P So i ask...dont sterotype?
omg i started crying wen i saw this vid i cant believe people can be so mean .... especially that i have a parrot like that! that was totally heart breaking
for thoose people who disliked this vido you are retarted or you missed the go parrots buttoun. The 31 people who diliked it are the most heart less people in the world so go and kill more adorable birds you monsters.you probly hit a bird each month 1 *31=31*30 = 930 poor poor birds
No the 33 people who disliked this most likely own birds. They (including me) disagree. The birds have loving homes with a family. They aren't alone. They aren't pets though. they're family. I am not heartless. In fact, my bird is sitting right here on my knee whistling. "1 *31=31*30 = 930 poor poor birds" Wtf retard. THat is barely even possible. What are you, 8?
@comandermalander456 It's not that simple. When born in captivity, the parrots do not know how to survive in the wild because they did not have the opportunity to learn. A bird born in captivity does not know the dangers of predators or know where to find food because it never went outside to learn. The solution is to have people rehab them and then release them.
if you gonna have a pet bird its ok but have enough room to let it free out the cage whenever they want ,thats what i do with mines they use the cage to eat and sleep,i let them loose in my house during the day .and some of those pictures made me sick, they have the poor birds all on top of eachother like a boat of slaves, come on people ,we supose to be humans ,why must we be so cruel to our fellow earthlings.
It breaks my heart to see this and how people can do this to birds. I have 2 parrots and if anybody tries to do do that to them I will make their life hell.
When I grow up, I want to go to the owners of that illegal bird stores and teach him a good hard lesson.
i adopt polly 10 years ago....when i got here all her tail feathers were gone and her neck was featherless too,,,,,,,she was terrified of humans ....now 10 years later she is 13 and i cant see my live whithout her ...the thing she love the most.....go to the front yard put her in her stand, take the hose and put it on mist mode and shower her, she will laugh so good that it makes me feel good......she have a cage ...i wont lie, because she need a place where to sit, to sleep, to eat but it big
Thats why i bought a big ass flight cage for my parrotlets so that when im out they can still fly around when im gone but i still clip their wings occasionally for the fact i think its for cruel for the bird to die of cold or get eaten by a hawk but a parrot is not an ornament it isnt there just to make the house look cool its a pet
My parents are from guyana and they would always tell me about having the birds fly around everywhere, but they never let me have one of my own here in the US because they said they didnt belong. D: I really understand why now.
Human is the most destructive being on earth. We don't just destroy the wild animal's habitats, we catch and imprison them just for our greedy enjoyment.
I've had Maggie, my Max. Pionus since I was five (I'm turning 18 soon). Though she wasn't a rescued animal, in a way, she rescued me as I was diagnosed with psychological disorders, learning dissabilities and other issues that turned my world upside down. Perhaps its not we who rescue the creatures...but the creatures who rescue us from ourselves. I would not be here if it wasn't for my wonderful feathered friend. Be kind to birds and all animals, because they really do fill holes in the heart.
This was absoloutely amazing. I don't feel ashamed that I treat my birds equal, and not, "just birds" as animals, especially parrots, are so under estimated. Great video, thanks for uploading this.
@KidzVampire Wow. It's great that you could interact with a wild parrot that way without forcing it to stay in your house or in a cage. Yes, it is sad that people just don't know or care or understand where the parrots in pet stores come from and how you should not force birds that were meant to be flying and wild into a tiny cage alone for life. Thanks for your comment.
It is sad how they are brought here, but most go to loving homes and have a good life there. I have two cockatiels and two parakeets. I had one cockatiel from a pet store (he died of old age) and he lived a good life (pffft spoiled). My two cockatiels are from a breeder and they are in a loving home and being taken care of. And no, they aren't stuffed in tiny cages. My cockatiels' cage is giant (taller than me). It's not like they are kept in their cage all day. They are out all day.
The major problem here is that most places are a long way from an available adoption center. If they are near then they often make it very hard to adopt them... no wonder why people just purchase them... do they want homes for them or not?
I have one 6 hours away round trip, they wanted 3 visits, 3 classes attended, and more requirements. I am very irritated, seeing as how they have up to 30 birds who need homes.
Damn now i feel bad to have bought a cockatiel. Allthough they live better with me and our other birds than they did at the breeder but i supported the animal trade :(
I guess i will never do this again because it helps only one bird and another two will be caught.
At least i didnt support the ones who catch them and put them in boxes cause mine was born here in Germany. If I had the power I would lock all these people, who do this cruelty to the animals, in a cage and beat them every morning.
@MeeGra123 It's more important that you know now. Don't feel too badly about getting a bird from a breeder- just try to educate others and if you get another one at some point, adopt. It's the consumers who don't learn or don't care that are the biggest threat. Thanks for your comment.
eeehhh to make people award you fucking tick...your another 1 that would rather walk into a pet shop pick a bird and could'nt give a bollix how it got their..
if i have a good income and live in another warm place, i wil take in as much as i can, clean them and let them fly around and give them good homes. tears:((
i have arainbow lorikeet and a budgie, im totally against clipping. my rainbow lorikeet is harness trained and flys outside on it and i also have a massive aviary for him and my budgie. its not the same as the wild but there sure not locked up in a cage 24/7
Dont listen to the post these people make... I am a bird lover and im glad that you'd take your time to make this video. In this sense, people with be aware of the abuse birds go through and would want to bring a bird home that deserves one. With the right treatment and TLC things like that wouldnt happen to birds in the first place. Make it know for people like us to change their lives.

@NBshadow97 dude ur a f*ckin moron i bet ur like a nine year old seriously get a life and where in this video does the publisher try to make the video funny? go get a life! JACKASS oh and buy the way 9 year old you misspelled "would" wrong
@NBshadow97 It's sad seeing the bad part of our planet and what we're doing to it, i absolutely adore birds and it's hard breaking to watch... Gave me tears x
@AvgStop thank you for giving me comfort. usi is giving people that help animals a bad feeling! When people hurt, they want others to hurt too. Evidently this person needs help.
Many people will not help animals because they are offended by usi, but I know it's usi. I help the local bird sanctuary, foster a bird and I encourage others to do the same things too as we will do the right things in spite of usi in the world.
Thanks for having the courage to make the video. While the humans around me didn't help me, my female eclectus parrot was largely responsible for helping me deal with the death of my only child, a son. I am a DIFFERENT PERSON because God sent into my life a parrot. Yes, a parrot!!
this is pure greed. it is sad what extremes men go through to aquire money. i am proud to be a volunteer at Foster Parrots & help give some of these birds a much better life.
I don't know how people can do this too such cute creatures I'm pretty much boiling my eyes out now.Curse the people who have done this.Parrots have done nothing wrong and those bastards treat 'em like that.
Most parrot species have a high intellegance level, at maturity, an amizon has an intellegance of roughly a two three or four year old, debends on the type, and the birdie itself. But still, parrots live in flocks, so they are social, in that way, if someone does have a parot, they need to have a time to be out of their cage, and time to be outside.

@vaporeon333xxx - It is extinct in the wild. Yes, there are a few left in captivity (70-80 - don't have the exact numbers), but they have not yet made a succesful reintroduction. They were going to use that last wild male as a teacher to the birds they released, but then he disappeared.

All you wing clippers watch this movie (Paulie) at 1:20 and tell me it's still right to clip bird's wings. watch?v=WRKBBjgLfaY Yes I'm aware it's just a movie, but see for yourself what you are denying the bird in the long run.
tiennumidori1 11 months ago
i have a parakeet and i absoloutley love birds.the only time he is in his cage is to sleep or when im out somewhere like school.i keep his wings slightly clipped so he can get where he needs to but i only keep them clipped is because he always flies off and hurts himself.he is still happy with it and can get anywhere he needs to, but he cant get anywhere he can get hurt like the stove

And i'm not talking about birds beings transport inhumanly like in this video that were dispatch from the wild, i'm talking about bird that where born in breeders. And birds aren't so afraid of human. When i went to brasil, there was a lot of parrots and they were always hanging around the campus. I think there's a balance everywhere and just stop breading parrots will be exagerated.
ghostxflower 1 year ago
I agree with MrCrm1102.
Plus, there are ethical ways to do and unethical way to do thing.
I don't agree with people keeping their parrots in their cage all they long this makes no sense it's treating animal like object. But trainer who take really good care of parrots makes them learn how to speak feed them properly give them time and love. They don't have to liberty de fly along the jungle but on the other hand they aren't eaten alive but some carnivorous creature.
ghostxflower 1 year ago
One thing that grinds my gears about many bird owners: They either keep birds cooped in cages for the rest of their lives or clip their wings so they can't fly. What is the point of doing this? Birds are meant to fly around. If you don't want a pet that flies, get another pet like a dog or hamster. Crippling a bird like that makes me sad. I let my birds fly around wherever they want, even outside.
tiennumidori1 1 year ago
@tiennumidori1 I know. In the UK it's considered animal cruelty to clip a birds wings. The U.S. thinks it's the best country in the world, but we're behind on many things. Animal rights is one of them. I would never clip my birds wings or confine them to cages throughout their lives. My birds only have cages to eat and go in and out as they please. I have branches hanging from the ceiling and perches everywhere.
july7nyc 1 year ago
@tiennumidori1 Well the reason people clip their birds wings is for their own safety..would you rather them fly into a window or mirror and break their necks? Clipping a birds wings is not crippling them and if done properly is not painful at all to the bird whatsoever.. its like you clipping your fingernails.... if you don't believe me ask any avian vet and they will tell you the exact same thing!
crazed4lovebirds 11 months ago
@crazed4lovebirds That's an easily remedied problem: Just cover the windows and mirrors in the area where the bird will be in. Clipping a bird's wings is certainly crippling. It robs the bird of what it's meant to do, flying. Clipping our fingernails does not hinder us in any way while clipping the flight feathers of a bird cripples it. If you don't want a pet that flies, get something else like a hamster. Birds are meant to experience freedom in flying.
tiennumidori1 11 months ago
@crazed4lovebirds What is the point of keeping a bird if you don't let it fly? It just means you want to keep the bird like a decorative item with a price tag. The only time it's acceptable to clip a bird's wings is when you try to tame and socialize him, so he doesn't fly away in terror when you try to get him to a simple step up on your finger.
tiennumidori1 11 months ago
so u talking about parrots u are right thay are wild birds so if u dont agree with it than dont go to zoo couse it the same thang wild animals for a show it not human to do that i love animals but there not to be keep in cattivie thay shood be able to run free in the life not caged up

I do own parrots and after several years I have grown to understand that no they should not be pets. Even though they get hours of free time and are free flying in my home it is not their natural environment and in a way they still suffer. At the same time if I did NOT have them as pets I would not come to that realization... There needs to be a ban from all developed countries to prevent the import of exotic birds or any wild caught species of animal.
bab4 1 year ago
@bab4 I agree. I also agree the pet industry should stop breeding and selling parrots as pets. Period. It's not just about the ones captured in the wild, but the ones bred in captivity are still WILD. It just means they would never be able to survive in the wild. And I was the same as you- I came to the realization on my own after getting my first parrot and the more I learned about them, the more I felt it was not right. Now I try to advocate for them.
july7nyc 1 year ago
@july7nyc Besides wild pets even domesticated animals suffer in human presence. In any sense of owning an animal of any sort the animal always gets the short end of the stick. When living things are seen as possessions that's going to be bad. I can't wait till we can get to the point when people can get robot pets that are as good as the real thing. Maybe only then can this cycle of animal suffering be broken. The technology for this is thankfully right around the corner.
bab4 1 year ago
one thing: not all parrots are captured from the wild, breeding is much cheaper and more ethic
Rboysblaster 1 year ago
@Rboysblaster Is it ethical to breed tigers as pets? Breeding wild animals as pets is not ethical. Period.
july7nyc 1 year ago
@july7nyc if there is taken good care of those parrots, it isn't necessarily unethical to breed them.
Lions are btw different, so I won't discuss that.
Furthermore, I didn't say it is ethic, I just said breeding is more ethic than capturing them from the wild, do you agree on that though?
Rboysblaster 1 year ago
@july7nyc I said MORE ethical, completely unrelated to ethical
I agree with you, but don't you agree with me too? I mean, your counter argument was actually not relevant on my statement, I even would say the same!
Rboysblaster 10 months ago
@july7nyc um, what about dogs and cats? don't tell me they're different, because they were once wild, too. so were ALL animals.
khaza1wolfgurl 9 months ago
@khaza1wolfgurl Oh really? So you believe that golden retrievers and poodles and fluffy the long-haired cat were once roaming the jungle? Do some basic research on the domestication of animals. Dogs, cats, cows, and other domesticated animals are completely different animals than their wild counterparts and these animals never existed in the wild. Parrots are not domesticated at all. They are all 100% wild, as are tigers, elephants, gorillas, and all the animals that exist and live in the wild.
july7nyc 8 months ago
@july7nyc it's true that domestic animals are nothing like their ancestors and wild counterparts, but domestication has to start somewhere

I think their should be bird licences through out the cities of america you must have a permit in order to keep a parrot then people would rethink about buying a bird that requires you to buy a 1000 permit birds are bought on impulse and just put to the side like a decorative item

Is this normal (like little children who don't want to go to bed or school) or shouldn't we cover him?
He also shakes a lot like he's afraid of something, could it be he's scared of his own shadow or magpies in the garden?

SIMPLE, RELEASE THEM INTO THE WILD. BASTARDS
comandermalander456 1 year ago
@comandermalander456 It's not that simple. When born in captivity, the parrots do not know how to survive in the wild because they did not have the opportunity to learn. A bird born in captivity does not know the dangers of predators or know where to find food because it never went outside to learn. The solution is to have people rehab them and then release them.

RectangularBird 1 year ago
@KidzVampire Wow. It's great that you could interact with a wild parrot that way without forcing it to stay in your house or in a cage. Yes, it is sad that people just don't know or care or understand where the parrots in pet stores come from and how you should not force birds that were meant to be flying and wild into a tiny cage alone for life. Thanks for your comment.
july7nyc 1 year ago
@july7nyc
They are out all day.
merfquerf 1 year ago

MeeGra123 1 year ago
@MeeGra123 It's more important that you know now. Don't feel too badly about getting a bird from a breeder- just try to educate others and if you get another one at some point, adopt. It's the consumers who don't learn or don't care that are the biggest threat. Thanks for your comment.
