It's not a very amazing award when it's a very biased award. So Obama won the Nobel peace prize for no reason? Who cares? It's not like the peace prize holds any value like say an Olympic Gold Medal. People actually have to do work for that at least (The gold medal that is...).

He has done something great. He saved this countries economy from falling off the cliff. Therefore saving the rest of the worlds economy. If you haven't been watching the news, everyone's economy is coming back dum azz! That's what he did. Look up the freaking great depression in the 1920's and 30's and make sure you watch film so that you will truly understand what the hell he saved you and millions more people from. I am so ashamed that my generation is so filled with suckers. The whole speech was nothing more than an eloquent excuse for an unjust war. We are not fighting to defend any ideals, we're killing people for corporate profits. Furthermore, he has been compromising the ideals that he references left and right: "there may be a number of people who cannot be prosecuted for past crimes, but who nonetheless pose a threat to the security of the United States." and those people will never have a trial.

1)War is big business(i.e. arms manufacturing, reconstruction contracts etc) .There are a lot of bourgeois assholes killing people and fattening their pockets at our expense. Furthermore, one needs only look on a map to get a sense of Afghanistan's geopolitical value.2)There is no resolution in Afghanistan. It is a massive piece of real-estate lacking, in most areas, any semblance of a state.The only place where the US established any kind of pro-western government is Kabul.How does that help?

We went into Afghanistan for the specific purpose of capturing Osama Bin Laden. Unfortunately by the time we got there he was gone. So we adopted a different purpose which would justify our staying: regime change. It's like the cops chase a robber into your house, he runs out the back door and the cops just decide to stop chasing him in favor of staying for a while and fucking with the drapes. Every time the US government cries wolf you fall for it. When will you learn? Next stop Iran.
