So this is the town that inspired Cristoph Gans movie take of Silent Hill? Interesting man, i didn't think this was based on a real place. So this underground inferno's been burning for more than half a century? thats f*cking crazy, just crazy, just think of the bodies or evidence you could dispose of down there. I like it. The music makes it all sound nice and normal...nice middle-class suburban neighborhood, that just so happens to have a raging inferno beneath its feet! So in a way, the music ADDS to the eerie effect.

I'm an ex coal miner..Why doesn't somebody reopen the pit?? If there's that amount of fuel for 1000 years it's WORTH $BILLIONS!!! Geez boy you've got a coal gas source that can be turned into electricity by extracting it out one pipe and blowing moist air down another to encourage production!! The bore holes should be relatively inexpensive as the amount of surface damage shows the coal to be near the surface!
