These type of child support and spousal support payments go on every day where a man or woman who is not the physical custodian of the chils has to pay anywhere from 18% to 25% of their income per child depending on what stated they reside in. This is nothing new so why everybody tripping? They only awarded Kelis based upon Nas' income. She had to proove his income, and obviously she did. He could have contested it and prooved her wrong he didn't.

If a father has joint custody like most do, he is still obligated to pay child support. Unfair, b/c the child is with the father half or 49% of the time.

Joint custody is a legal term. If the mother is the primary provider, meaning if the child lives with the mother most of the time then the other parent will have to pay child support. If the man would take not just joint legal custody, but also take primary physical custody then he can avoid this. Most men aint trying to have the baby 24/7 and have the mother pick the child up maybe every other weekend. I say just stop getting these women knocked up. That will solve all of that.

Some people do not understand our legal system. These type of child support and spousal support payments go on every day where a man or woman who is not the physical custodian of the chils has to pay anywhere from 18% to 25% of their income per child depending on what stated they reside in. This is nothing new so why everybody tripping? They only awarded Kelis based upon Nas' income. She had to proove his income, and obviously she did. He could have contested it and prooved her wrong he didn't.

the order was not based on what he can afford in a few years. It was based on What he can afford today. If his income changes, all he has to do is go to court and show proof of his new income. I work in the legal profession and many men just fail to get facts and take the time to follow court procedures. If his income goes up drastically, she can ask for more child support and if it goes down drastically he can ask for a reduction. This is not rocket science.
