it sucks seeing how a kid taking with the 13th pick named brandon nimmo can't even shine bichette jr shoes with the bat. smfh. can someone please tell me how horrible the mets scouting staff is cause this kid could've been a huge pick up for us. the yankees did the right thing in taking him
one thing i can say about this kid is he is an absolute animal!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he tears the cover off the ball i know this is old but i just realized his exiting ball speed at its highest was 90 something next to bryce harper who was consistently in the 100 area. this kid bichette jr drops bombs!!!!!!! good pick up for the yankees man i can't believe he went unnoticed though has anyone seen some of the homeruns he's hit on youtube? its ridiculous how his talent was overlooked. I'm a mets fan and
YANKEES BABY!!!! Now I know I look at his numers and the kid can hit for power but naybody know how his fielding is and do people think he was a good pick by the yankees???
I saw his Daddy play in Coors field. The best clutch hitter in Rockies history. That kid is his clone, except he is light years ahead of his Dad at his age. He has been groomed from a very early age to be a baseball player, plus he has the genetics, both his mother and father are athletes. His Dad is close with Joe Girardi, so I suspect the yankees will draft him. It would be great to hear his name announced in Coors field, I just hope he plays Sledge Hammer for his music.
Good thing that kid, and probably most these kids, know that the only way to experience success is to risk failure and the subsequent judgment from all these people who can't wait for some kid's hard work NOT to pay off. BTW big leaguers, by virtue of having made it past the millions who also tried, don't suck, period. And steroids? Neither Dante did or will do them- it'll be whatever it is, but cool that you can sit behind a user name and claim to know. Awesome.
I'm on his HS team this year, and was last year, everybody better watch out because Orangewood is out for the title this year. D is simply a beast, and for all of you claiming roids: you guys are idiots. He also competed this year but powershowcase hasn't posted this years videos on YouTube yet. He placed second, despite the fact that he hit the most overall homeruns. And, yes, he is definately a first round prospect. Ask anyone who has played with or againt him.
All these kids are obviously very talented. One thing I notice though is a ton of movement in their stances pre-swing, with their hands and strides. I'm a big fan of the phrase "if it ain't broke don't fix it", but speaking as a .350 hitter in D1 ball I would try to shorten up some of the strides these kids take. Granted it's a HR Derby, but in some game film its the same. Just a thought, but good luck to these kids they have a ton of potential and bright futures.
im in HS and When i play a game i take Big steps in to the ball and i dont get alot hits but i have a lot of power and hit HRs when needed if i want to get more hits should i take smaller steps?
Obviously I can't see your swing but I'm guessing with a big stride and some pop that you probably have a long swing. If you say you have a lot of power then you don't need a bigger stride to generate it. A short stride allows you to see the ball longer and sit back on offspeed pitches. Keep working hard and swinging everyday and you'll be fine. concentrate on staying short and quick to the ball. Trust yourself up there.
His swing isn't even that bad it's just his extension and follow through that look different. The first part of his swing looks quite normal actually.
I think the reason so many ppl have weird swings is becasue it works for them. I mean compare how many ppl have weird swings in the majors to the ratio of ppl having them in high school. theres a big difference
If you make it to the pros, you dont suck..Two if you actually watched some of the pro's you'd see that a bunch of them have swings that not many ppl could get away with. They're just tremendous atheleats. Dante Jr. is one of those..plus his swing isnt even that bad lol.
it doesn't matter how "messy" you are before you get into the 'power position.' From there, he's very short to and through the ball. And he's just naturally a big kid.
Little Dante's gonna be legit. He doesn't need steroids yet and he knows it. He's got his dad's NATURAL power. Dante didn't roid up. He just dominated Coors Field. He couldn't hit breaking pitches unless they were hangers like Coors used to generate. I do agree his swing is a little sloppy though.
its really not that hard to hit cock shots pitched by a pitching machine... Most of these guys probably wont even end up playing D 1 baseball, let alone be drafted.
most of these kids take roids, just come to south florida most of your top prospects have used some sort of roids, and im not saying every prospect did@
