The guys a F**king morehead. He doesn't sound nothing like Harry. He is on drugs. Will Ferrell is an idiot too. I don't even know why he tried. John Campanera, and Will Ferrell give it up. Move on. PTVRenegade and rpm773, you 2 are moreheads too even think either one of those 2 yahooz are funny. What are you 2 years old? You dipyits.
You are right on the money PTV, Caponera was born less than a mile from the park and his comedy here is loving a tribute to his favorite team`s announcers.
I couln't agree more with Jtutankhamen. Jim Volkman, by far, is the greatest Harry Caray impersonator. Nobody else, and especially this Capanera hack is even close. I'm from Chicago and heard Harry almost daily for 25 years. How could anybody who heard the original think that this Campanera guy is even doing Harry-it's sucks so bad!
A horrible impersonation. The best HC impersonation belongs to Jim Volkman, a little known radio guy in Chicago. The rest are hacks, especially Will Ferrell.
I'll be sure to study up on my knowledge of theater so I can understand how a crappy impersonation should actually be interpreted as a caricature, and therfore become funny. Maybe I'll finally understand why people think Dane Cook is funny too.
Jim Volkman was fantastic. The best. And I think it was because his impersonation, while very good, was only a backdrop for the entire bit of juxtaposing Harry being partially senile and living the life of a wild playboy in between his broadcasting duties.
This Campanera guy and Will Ferrell make the impersonation the focus of the bit...kind of like "There's this guy in Chicago, and it's funny because he sounds like this...etc". And for anyone from Chicago, it's like "Who cares?"

Wow, take a pill people. Regardless of whether the impersonation is precise or not, this is pretty funny.
This is comedy, not a competition for who is the best Harry Caray impersonator.

@PTVRenegade Then it fails on both counts. Not funny, not a good impression.

I dont think they are trying to sound exactly like him, but rather a caricature of him, which is different.
By doing it with a slight bend towards a Will Ferrell signature, it becomes unique.
You would have to know something about theater which you you OBVIOUSLY dont.
Volkman may very well be the best, but it is all arbitrary opinions.

I'll add that Jim Volkman had the advantage of doing the impersonation on radio, which I'm sure is easier.
Perhaps Campanera should throw a bag over his head. A black, plastic one.

keep studying, and maybe you'll understand why everyone hates you :)

@jtutankhamen I couldn't agree with you anymore. John Caponera and Will Ferrell are idiots, and not even funny. Whatever happened to Jim anyway?
