i find that when learning to wheelwalk, it is easier on a slight uphill, so you do not speed up and fall forwards. you have to use more force, but i think it is a good training method
I find it interesting that you suggest starting off on a curb. I've been trying to learn wheel walking for ages now but I usually hang onto a fence. Perhaps that is hindering my ability to learn. Props for the great tutorial!
Going back to pedals, dont stare down at your cranks. Try and keep looking up and just glance down untill you see them coming around. When you start looking down it will put you off ballance.
Thanks for the advice...I'm really good at WW but for some reason, I can't see my pedals or cranks and when I look for them, I fall over. I guess I just need to keep practicing. (I understand what you're saying..I just don't have it yet! :)
What a great video! Thank you very much. I learned a lot and this really solved my problems with wwing. I can't give you thanks enough so take five stars from me :D
i had a strange problem while learning wheel walking ... it was summer and i learnt it without shoes and i got about 30 meters everytime ... but i couldn't do it with shoes -.-
well ... i relearnt it and now it's no problem anymore :D
gliding is usually going downhill or being pulled by something whilst u r on the uni. then u just use one foot on the frame to keep the balance by using it as a "break" on the tire
[off topic]I found this searching for help with sideways wheel walk, I'm getting close--I can transition in and out and can go 2 or 3 revs but still need work[/off topic]
btw, what do shoes do you wear to glide?
I've worn holes in 3 soles working on gliding at higher speeds in the mountains now(good fun, yah?)
Thanks, thats what I want to hear. Good luck gliding, it realy is worth it.
I am thinking of making a sidehop tutorial soon, maybe after I can hit 100cm will you find this useful? pm me if you would like one, maybe you can say things you find perticularly hard about them.
hey i have a creepy crawler wheel and its not very smooth, its pretty hard to try to glide on, got any sugustions

I´m a beginner at unicycling..........is it important to firstly be able to ride with one foot for wheelwalk and than gliding??
Thanks for the video!
DiaboloJuggler 2 years ago
no, but for gliding it helps if you want to be able to glide without hills just continuing your riding momentum

Yea just keep practicing, dont rush into it and stay in controll and ballanced. When you start getting it, it soon becomes natural.
Good luck
