The song isn't necessarily about drugs. There's an interview where Spencer talks about the song. They had wrote the song in a room with no windows or a clock so spencer said something like "it's nine in the afternoon". They wrote this song in the same place where they wrote their first album and that's where all these things in the song like "back into a room where it's nine in the afternoon" and "back to where it all began" an they felt at home and more of a band there.
