  • Thank you for such an incredible explanation of the punnett square. I have a blind student and I am tranferring my power points to word documents so he can read them easily in JAWS. Your explanation is detailed, complate and easy to understand and Iam including your explanation in my notes., because he deserves a visual and your explanation creates a clear visual. Thank you... Adjunct Prof in Anthropology

  • @Cizza225 genotype refers to the genetic makeup of a specific set of genes.

Phenotype is the physical characteristics of an individual organism like traits i guess!hope i helped

  • thanks helped me a lot

  • whats pheno trype and genotype :/

  • @Cizza225 dont worry about i know

  • thank you soo much! you explained more than my science teacher who got me lost more than once.

  • I really, REALLY need to switch to Youtube School District for all my learning needs. This is a clear explanation on how to do this. Thank you SO MUCH

  • anyway..this is amazing :-)

  • this is very beautiful but the instructor talks so fast..

  • Is she a men

  • Oh yeah! I'm so ready for my Biology activity tomorrow! Thank you for your wonderful explanation. =D It really made me more interested about genetics. :)

  • you explain it so much better than my teacher! thank you gorgeous :3

  • So confuse on how to find the ratio for some reason.

  • please be my teacher. omg explains it soo well

  • THANKS.. I have to re-test on my EOC in Biology today, hopefully this would help me :)

  • cool!!!

  • keep on tapping 3 for nagging voice lol

  • Well, I certainly rate this a A Plus...I couldn't get the small letter to save my life...still don't really understand why it has to be small...how do you know it's the genotype? Couldn't the genotype be something else, like say blue? That's what is confusing...you explained it very well about the recessive and dominant too...thank you! I'm just a bit slow with the other stuff, though I'm getting a bit of it, i think! :) Thanks again!

  • @mbt777 The small letter just shows it's recessive. It's a bit confusing that both letters are 'b's, but you just need to remember that the big letter means the allele is dominant and the little letter means it is recessive :)

So here the big letter is B for Brown (dominant) and the little letter is b for blue (recessive).

Genotype is just what's going on inside your genes- phenotype is what's actually seen, the visible outcome of the genes. Hope that helps a bit!

  • @takaeagle300 there's lots of different ways to do it, the one she does--the monohybrid cross--is the simplest, and most of the other kind can be broken up and solved this way. I don't know if this will help you much, but in my genetics class my teacher tells us all the time that the goal of all these punnett squares is to simply guess what kind of offspring are going to be born. Good luck to ya!

  • one my textbook it says that theres is a capital letter and a lower case letter in the left side meening the female did she do somthing wrong or does it matter?

  • so theres one way to make the punnet square or there many more ways?

  • i still dont get it!

  • thank you based god

  • @phantomxt4427

.. its both. it just depends where u live

  • thankyou !

  • I get it, but where does she get the dominate and recessive?? How can you tell if it's dominate or recessive? -_-

  • @ShineyGreenGlitter like if your dad had black hair and your mom had blonde hair which hair type would be dominant? Black right? so kind of like that. Darker is usually dominant. But it can vary.

  • @FoodMonst4r Ohhh thanks. :)

  • i learned this in 7th grade. but its good to refresh your memory

  • thanks to you i will get a 10 on tomorrows test!!
