Hey! What should i do for these overhead tricep workouts if I don't have a bench where the back only go up that far. All the benches at my gym go up to like half way up my head so I can't really do it?
Would it still work if i just did it with a lighter weight, just sitting, with no back support?

@winkawak work the negative. when focusing on the negative (down) you should have about %130 of your 1 rep max. have a spotter, and notify the spotter to lift most of the weight on the posative (up). when lowering take about 6-8 seconds to reach the ending part of exercise. for example, hammer curl; have someone lift most of the weight up and you lower it nice and slow ripping those muscle fibers. make sure to go to failure and have a good rest. look up "dorian yates blood and guts" good tips

I like this with a straight bar, hits the triceps in a huge way then. I alternate this exercise and traditional lying skull crushers from week-to-week.
@IrishRhavin It might feel a little awkward at first, but if you're wrists are parallel you're going to hit the long head of the tricep more exclusively, it will also force you to keep your elbows in to prevent discomfort.
Well if you sit with back support like Scott does in the video your butt should be all the way back and your back should be straight. As you said, lock your core :)
Exercises like this and skull crushers give me some pain in my forearms, but only for the first rep or two. (But still happens on start of every set) Could this be down to the way I hold the bar? Or using too much weight?
is this as good or better than dumbbell overhead tricep extension?

i really need some advice
i have hard time moving up on weights now
for example hammer curl im stuck at 40lb
arnold shoulder press stuck at 45lb
...etc
i always push myslef but just cant seem to add more weights
any advice?

@jgq85 yes but why would you? Puts more stress on the body / back. Sitting isolates the tri's which is the point of the exercise.
