  • mine does that to :D

  • I have a baby girl named Jelly Bean who looks exactly like her!

  • I lost recently one like this, with this collors... I loved her!

  • Aw, she looks just like my baby. Not sure what mine is, since its nearly impossible without the blood test. Anyway, cute bird. Nice voice.

  • @BlackWolfRose if your bird has this patterning and is over a year and a half old, its female. male Pearls (what the mutation is called) lose their markings around 1 year of age while females keep theirs.. hope this helps!

  • @BlackWolfRose what does the blood test prove when you do it? i got one but only had him for 1week now he tries to bite my hand when ever i go near him, today he flew out the cage n banged into the window so i put him back into the cage i was scared he going to die or injure him self!!

  • @dogus194 The blood test determines your birds gender. It's the only way to know for sure. Let your bird out in rooms w/o windows or mirrors, or cover them so he doesn't fly into them. And he won't trust you at first. Keep your distance and let him investigate you. Don't force yourself on him. He'll come around sooner or later. It took mine about a year to really sit on me, and a few months before he learned the up-up command. Patience is key.

  • @BlackWolfRose oh i'll get a blood test done i want to ge him checked by the vet too as his my first bird. should i stop trying to hold him on my hand because the vet lady adviced me to try and catch him in the cage and hold him for few minutes as it'll get him used to being tamed. does the up-up command for the bird mean come onto my hand?

  • @dogus194 Yes, up-up means to climb onto the hand/finger. If the vet advised you to hold him for a few minutes, then do it. But don't overwhelm him. Too much stress can be harmful to a bird. And try to give him treats while your holding him. He'll begin to associate the time with you as rewarding and something he'll want to do.

  • @BlackWolfRose oh okie i think his a bit calmer around me now he tries to run away when i try to hold him and tried giving treats before but my gloves was to big to hold him on one hand. he was listening to me talking to him while on my hand then he tries to bite n get out again. i caught him yesterday one in the morning and one in the afternoon im going to leave him alone until saturday then hold him again. i tried without the gloves once my hand ended up bleeding and he pecked my lip too >_>.

  • what kind of treats would you advice? i give him bread as a treat now and then as he loves them. he also loves mirrors and me blowing air to his body when the room is warm or time to time. he loves lettuce so i give him one every day.

  • @dogus194 Well, any pet store will have an arrey of treats you can pick from. I would advise millet though. Birds love it. My bird freaks for millet. They come on the stem, which also helps with their foraging skills. And if you want your bird to learn how to sing and talk like the one in this video, people advise against letting them have mirrors, because they end up just singing to the other birdy.

  • @BlackWolfRose my bird has one big mirror that he can see his whole body which he loves it but he drops it most of the time lol. He feels much more secure around that mirror and lets me get a bit near him so i'll leave the mirror there and he has 2 more mirrors one makes him look tall, small and crazy. i checked on a vet page and they have millet spray 300gm i'll buy it tommorrow :). would it be useful to use the treat while im holding him on my hand?

  • @BlackWolfRose i don't mind my bird singing but he sings really really really really early in the morning and late at night when his about to go bed i don't mind him singing not a problem to me lol i can still sleep just my mum keeps on making a fuss about the bird singing early in the morning so i just clap my hands and he stops ;0

  • @BlackWolfRose i've got a mirror for him he has 2 small ones and one that shows his whole body, and okay i'll go buy a packet of the treats for him and try to get him to get on my hand as well as holding the other treat with my other hand and hopefully he'll get on it before trying to catch him then give the treat. i'll keep ya informed :p

  • she is certainly a female.. you can tell by her reactions to the man in the video. She is showing off for him. I have a female tiel who shows off for my husband all the time. My males.. try to eat his face :)

  • @thesingingbeaner rivary going on there between the birds and your husband lol =P well thats what the birds see it as lol XD

  • @thesingingbeaner My male's all loved me but I never have any luck with females they all look at me like they want to peck my eyes out lol.being a female myself they probably see me as compatition, My one bird I know was in love with me. He would always sing to me & he'd fly to my room to wake me up in the morning so I could give him a kiss & he'd bite any man who came too close lol.

  • I have a female 'tiel also who wolf whistles haha, my mother has a peircing whistle so she picked that up haha.

  • How did you get her to whistle?

  • @CKALLY i just kept repeating the whistle. eventually she picked it up! but not all females will learn to whistle. most dont ever learn.
