Hi ed i have a question, im making a new L1011 for me and i have a little problem ... the Aerosim TRC is giving some crazy data ! can you provide me with your TRC gauge ? or at least give me a hint on how to make one (manual - tutorial - forum) ?
@clinton252 Not really... I like all aircraft.... but I would say I have a penchant for something a bit heavier than a Warrior PA28-161. Having said that I love the little Piper Warrior I am flying IRL and I have got my eye on a part share in a Yak 18T! lol
@tadeuprimo Well definitely not 10 as I am on my second CH rudder pedal...they should last in my mind but do not seem to. I do like the toe braking on it. I have a registered FSUIPC but the rudder pedals are the only thing I need to keep tweaking for some reason. Would I buy them again?... yes but I have not looked to hard for a better set.
@edetroit I'm appreciated with your reply Edward, but now I'm studying possibilities to build my own Rudder Pedal using BU0836 from leobodnar(dot)com . Its a good choice too for my project.
Hey, I really like your L-1011 pane, I know you made it by yourself but was it a base panel you found and modified it? Or made the whole panel from scratch? Well if there is a base panel can you tell me where I can find it?
Well, there's a nice surprise on my day off! Love the "antiquing" effects of the film, too. It appeared that you weren't using autothrust on that flight during climb and approach - is that right?
With all the repaints recently released by Staffan and yourself, it's good times in TriStar-land.
@PittsSZ I could have used the ATS switch if I wanted but I did not have to. I would really only use it on approach. I use a takeoff/go around switch on the yoke for takeoff power (It clamps t/o power after 80kts). After take off I select climb thrust on the FMS and hit the thrust management switch.... that gives me climb thrust then I hit VNAV when ready. If I have to level out and hold an airspeed for level constraints for example I would then hit the ATS switch.
@edetroit To then climb again I would select the new altitude...arm it. Then ATS must be switched of before TM is selected again (climb power) ...then hit VNAV. On reaching crz alt the FMS will automatically select crz power which basically gives me the correct power to hold crz speed. I tend not to select the ATS as well because I like the fact that the engines stay at a steady rate and don't spool up and down just because of some small wind changes.
Respond to this video... So really the ATS switch (autothrottle) is only useful for the approach ....but even then the FS autothrottle is a little spooly up and down for me so I prefer to control it manually.
@PittsSZ Thankyou John. I have purchased 4 L10 AOM's and one just on the L10 FMS....I am trying to make it as accurate as poss........ did you like the DLC action?
@PittsSZ Hello again John, I am sure you know the problem with flying airliners is that one should have engine rating...that is is t/o, clb, crz, g/a power ratings. Default aircraft do not have this so cannot be realistic. FS9 has a rubbish default EPR code.... we asked for a fix for this very important code in FSX ...they gave us sparkly water, many are impressed by sparkly water I am not. Two difficult custom codes to write for FS both essential for airliners Engine rating and VNAV.
@edetroit Yes, Ed, I remember how Bob Scott has talked about working around FS9's EPR code when creating the Tinmouse II, and how badly Captain Sim missed it with their 707. I've never purchased FSX, mostly because the heavy-iron experience seems to be better in FS9...and I can always get shiny water with REX!
I definitely appreciate the wing views on short final that you include in these videos....so that I can watch the DLC working the spoilers! Truly a clever addition to this panel.
@PittsSZ My L-10 is the closest I have come to writing a half decent engine rating code.....and then and only then one can think of writing VNAV or FLC (called IAS in the L-10) I have still to implement IAS but the VNAV is a joy to behold.
How can i get AES to work at Airports such as gatwick or manchester????

@leonelp51 I would post "How to make a thrust rating computer" at the avsim aircraft and panel design forum.
You will need performance charts for the L10 as well.

@edetroit thank you very much ed ! and yes i finded an L1011 manual with the perf. tables at flightsim ;)

What about your flight controls Edward? What you're using to command rudder pedals ?

@tadeuprimo I use the CH Products rudder pedals.
