Sunshine, your point is irrelevent because we DO live in the USA. And yes, we are very fortuante to live in a country with so many resources and such relative wealth in comparison to other places, but that brings with it a higher expectation for quality of life. We are lucky to have clean drinking water, many countries cannot say the same. That does not mean that we should accept traveling 160 miles every month to get our supply of potable water. It is not complaining, it is advocating.
Wow, Sunnshine you are a little bit on the heartless side. Do you think it is right to make a 74 year old man ride for a minimum of 4 hours to get a treatment that is necessary for him to survive? Don't you think that part of the point is how much money Medicare is wasting on this versus how much they would save by infusing him at the rehab center? Maybe you just missed that part. Also, I'm sure his daughter has a job and family and probably cannot drive him, nor should she have to.
@VeggieKarma ~ I'm just saying he is lucky they will pay for it at all. There are many people in many countries that cannot get it period or who don't have any insurance and they will not pay for it at all. We are very blessed in this country to have it paid for. If I can get it, I am thankful and am not going to complain if it keeps me alive and gets me healthy. Flat out don't complain and be thankful folks. We have it so good in this country stop complaining.
honestly, thank the Lord they pay for it, I would not complain. I am currently looking at the possibility of having to start this therapy and I am going to be thankful just to receive it. I don't care how I get it, or how far I have to go to get it. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth people. If you don't like it, drive your dad yourself!!!! Some people just really don't know how good they have it. Stop complaining people!!!!
