@pikohanjackhammer Although the GrandTheftAuto series is much more solid, I wouldn't say any of the driver games rip off GTA, in the sense that Driver was doing 3D worlds almost 2 years before GTA III.

@pikohanjackhammer I disagree with you. Let's compare any GTA from Liberty City Stories down with Driv3r... Driv3r has ALOT better graphics than ANY of those GTA's. Although GTA is my favorite series, I think Driv3r beats GTA as far as graphics go. Of course, the playability in Driv3r isn't as good as GTA. I do not believe at all that Reflections Interactive ripped of Rockstar. And as TomClark2 said, Driver was doing 3D worlds like 2 years before GTA 3.

@ddddfffss124 That's true. I've just recently got Driver San-Francisco. I think driver still has it's own direction, purely about the driving and chases and the thrill of that, GTA has a lot of other faculties that make it unique in it's own way.

No one has mentioned Midtown madness or Midnight Club in any of these comments, those games were a lot more similar from a game play standpoint.

@TomClark2 I know exactly what you mean. The Driver series is based on driving and chases, where GTA is mostly about killing. I've never played Midtown Madness believe it or not. I have an old original Midnight Club for my almost-busted PS2. That game was fun for back then. I've been getting recommendations for Midnight Club. I might just buy one for my 360.

I had Driver 2 but after playinga bit of Driver I realized how much more fun D1 was. Driver 2's graphics really took a toll on the system, resulting in low framerates when more than one or two cars were present.

in the beginning, if you wait for like 5 or 8 seconds and drive straight...you would be able to ramp the bridge way ahead from there :D i used to do this every time..if u dont do the right timing then either a police car would chase you (but that just makes it more fun) or you'll miss the bridge going up or get there too early...its funny how i loved this game nd thought the graphics kicked ass lool

I used to love playing this and Driver 1 years ago especially with the cinematic camera. Not to mention being SO happy when you could finally get out of a car in Driver 2.

Still remember those lag moments well and now that I look at this video I can't help but notice all those pop ups of buildings and such lol

a lot of the recent games I've played seem to be very unrealistic when you crash (for example forza motorsport and midtown madness 3, just to name a few), just bouncing off the walls and returning to the track. These Driver games seemed to have a real sense of damage, like actually having a "crash" sound when you crash.
