I love this song so much, whenever I'm feeling down this song always helps lift my spirits, although it puts me in that mellow mood, I feel better and I know God is on my side.

The heart is deceitfully wicked above all things according to jeremiah - why would you want to hold onto it when you let it go and surrender it to Jesus. the same with the mind, it's such a battleground the enemy uses to distract us on a regular basis, it's why we wear the helmet of salvation to protect it...why would u not want to surrender that to God as well?

He was willing to die, to be made fun of, to have needles in his hands and thorns upon his head. He was willing to be beaten and to hang from a cross for you! Just curious...how do you the reconcile the bridge (from David Gray) that says "Let go of your heart, let go of your head and feel it now", with what John 4:23-24 says:

She is simply saying "Let Go." You've heard the Old saying "Let go and let God...." That is pretty much it... I do not think that is any contradiction to that scripture. (If that is what you're saying) She is not singing that God is only about feelings either but simply stating the fact that he can be tangibly felt.

daniinkriis- Jesus died on the cross for us! God gave up the only Son he had that was so imprtant to him for us. He was willing to die, to be made fun of, to have needles in his hands and thorns upon his head. He was willing to be beaten and to hang from a cross for you! Watch the Passion of Christ, I can't even bear to know that someone was willing to die for me. If you just close your eyes, pray, and ask Jesus to just move you watch what happens. Just curious...how do you the reconcile the bridge (from David Gray) that says "Let go of your heart, let go of your head and feel it now", with what John 4:23-24 says:
23 “But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. 24 “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

@firsttimothy612 What do you mean? I don't see any direct relation to that scripture. I'm pretty sure she is saying "feel Him now" (not that it matters)
She is simply saying "Let Go." You've heard the Old saying "Let go and let God...." That is pretty much it... I do not think that is any contradiction to that scripture. (If that is what you're saying) She is not singing that God is only about feelings either but simply stating the fact that he can be tangibly felt.

@jhportraits I'd like to hear what her understanding of that phrase is. The original song, Babylon, by David Gray certainly didn't mean let go and let God. He was singing to a girl.
In the context of a worship setting, where the song is about being in the presence of God, she is singing about the moment. The moment of worshiping in God's presence.
I don't understand that phrase to mean "let go and let God". That seems to be a statement about a lifestyle of surrender.

@firsttimothy612 Yeah I am sure she was simply changing the song to be about God rather than about a person. Much like early writers did with a good number of the Hymns many still sing today.
Maybe I am not hearing the heart of what you're saying... nevertheless. God is still good. =)

I think it's "One Thing Remains",though I think i've heard it called "Higher Than the Mountains (Your Love Never Fails).My church sings it all the time,and it's one of my favorites.Jesus Culture just did a cover of that one on their new CD,actaully.(And they did the other love never fails song,too,I know.)It's in their 'Come Away' album.
