When it comes to disarming an attacker lets look at it this way - he has a gun, and you dont. If they're that close, they got the drop on you. You're at a big disadvantage and they have a weapon which means your chances of survival are drastically reduced. get the right mindset - act, or die. Also remember yes, you might get shot, but not all shots are lethal. Accept the ultimate consequence, then defend yourself

We use this in the military, two things can happen when you grab the gun and it goes off. If it happends to be a revolver and you grab the frame you will most likely stop the rotation and rendering the gun incappable of firing at all. If the gun is a semi-auto the gun will go off, and the slide will probably come back and catch your hand in the action, making it incappable of shooting a second time and still better than getting shot.

@jobob335 im sure that the gun bearer wont expect the victim to do anything because he or she may be too scared. therfore leaving him confused and off balance for the victim to attack for at least a second. unless hes trigger friendly lol then he might just blast.

the reason so many attackers get close is because they do all this gangster crap and hold it one handed and holding the gun with one hand makes his accuracy decrease dramaticly so he stands 1 to 3 feet away.

CKM bs move. This is CKM not krav maga. We do this disarm when we are pressured in the stomach. Otherwise the basic disarm of krav maga is applicable in this situation

if you pull and twist correctly and their finger is inside the trigger guard, you will end up dislocating or breaking their finger and probably their wrist along with it on their strong side. painful enough for anyone to stop attacking. then you got the gun and distance as well.
