@MikePeperni PLEAE HELP ME.. ive just purchesed a e revo brushless and am very confused by all the batterie talk? am i right in thinkin that when u use a 6s you only use 1?? where as when u use 2 3s you get 10000 mah but wouldnt 2 6s give u the same? confused.. i brought 2 extra 4200mAh11.1v 3s 30c lipo batts to go wiv the 1s that come wiv the car. am i on the right tracks for gettin a good speed and a decent run time??????? any help would be much appreated. any ideas on batts 4 me

@tobytanner23 It will depend how the batteries are connected together, you can have one 6S but i doubt you find one that fit the battery compartment, you can use for example, two 3S 4200mah, if you connect them in serie it will give you 6S 4200mah, and if you connect them in parrallel it will give you a 3S 8400mah. parralel dont give more power and rpm, but give twice the runtime or close, in serie you have more power and rpm, but same or less runtime. Hope that helped.

@AceNinja2112 It always depend the capacity of the battery, the way you drive and where, but on 6S with 5000mah if you just run for fun, may be 25-30minutes, on 4S 5000mah about the same, but if you run 3S in parrallel you get 10000mah so around 50 minutes.

So what gears are you using? I see its mod 1 type setup, but what spur do you use? They dont make stock mod 1 spurs for the revo do they?

@dsmdeegen You use those from the nitro revo, we used 24t 36t mod1 gearing.

Gorilla tape wont hold for that, we used a fishing line glued around the tires, one in each grooves. It was a LOT better that way :) thats the best thing to do with them if you are looking for top speed.

@sbs9026 Thx for trying to type in my language :) just use english, the french translator dont use the right words, i couldnt understand what you meant... lol but thx! for your question, yes the stock tires will hold it back big time. You need something like the HPI Phaltlines, stock motor timing is alright doesnt make much difference on top speed, stock gearing is also too short especialy if you install phaltlines tires (they are smaller when ballooning...)

@cardinalkid Im not sure what you mean, that is a E-revo, and we used the same esc in that same E-revo to hit 91.2mph on 6S, if that was your queston :)

We used Thunder power 4S lipo on 24t 36t mod1 if i remember.

2200kv on a 4s 32560rpm and 72.8mph. im running

5700kv on a 3s 63270rpm and hitting around 60mph on my t3 with 23t 85t and after some speed runs the motor gets pretty hot cuse off the high gearing,

how can lower rpm meens higher top end speed?

@street58cars Its only the gearing, and the 5700 have nothing to do with a 2200kv. :)

a gearing on a given car dont have the same effect on an other one. :)

The 220kv is way biggert hnat he 5700 and can handle way more load also.

@street58cars also u gotta understand that a monster trucks tires are much bigger than a tc tire so the monster truck tire is going to move further with each rotation. also the body on the erevo doesnt go all the way to the ground like it does on a tc so it allows more airflow to the motor.

How does that speed gun work? Is the thing you were holding a reciever of the thing you put under the shell of the car? And it just calculates how fast the car is moving by how quick it moves towards you or something?

@SoggyHobNob Yeah it just send a signal to the moving object and calculate its speed. It is pretty accurat for the price, about +-1mph from the GPS at worst.

@WarhawkLegend69 For speed run only, its hard to say , depend on your goal (mph) but a safe gearing would be 22t54t if it is for speed runs only (no bashing)

it should be close to 70mph on 6S.

@vulyone1 ThPhaltline tires are good up to 65-70mph, to keep them from ungluing we used a fishing line and wrapped it around the tires in the 2 grooves., and added CA glue. :)

Its just the tires, we used extended wheelbase rear a-arms, to have a longer wheelbase...

We run it very low ride height using a zip-tie to keep both rocker together :)

a buletproof system here. the Momba Monster motor and speed control with the Thunder Power 40c batteries. you got it right man. great job. so many people make the mistake of buying the novak motor and speed control and they catch on fire and spin the rotor on the motor too. Thunder power is coming out with a 30amp LiPo charger in March. Have you seen there 50c batteries? they can take a 30 amp charge rate. The New Thunder Power G4 Batteries are the new hot thing. They charge in like 15 minutes.

If you want to run the mini offraod, the rear diff will break, even on asphalt but it will take lot more time.... you need to shim the rear pinion at the diff, you add one or 2 shim, you can get the shim from team associated, i dont remember the part # thought...

I run mine only on asphalt now, i will run it in snow this winter, thats the main reason i bought it, winter running. :)

Its a little small for gravel and grass, it have to be short grass, the mini revo overheat easily due to the waterproofing.

The shims are like very thin washers, to eliminate play between gears, if you have too much play the gear will strip more easily. you need a little bit of play but not too much... :)

id suggest you the new 4x4 slash instead.
