I think, while the tolzers have produced many an outstanding soloist since alex, none can quite match him in the area of style and interpretation. Maybe Andi....but we did not get to see too many of his solo solos and it is hard to tell. I actually prefer andi's tone, but Alex here is the master of style and musicality.

I don't know how many times I've replayed this over and over again. It is simply one of the best renditions of this piece that I've heard. The singers are very talented. It is very rare to hear such young talents execute a brilliant performance. And Alexander's trill is just cherry on top.

It's always tough translating colloquial expressions. "Kein bock mehr" translates as "no more support", but the poster may simply have meant that he doesn't sing soprano any more, something most of us have already figured out!

Indeed. He was the best wasn't he? Unlike most trebles who sound weak and wimpy, he had a bright rich, full (and beautiful in timbre) voice throughout the range. Also a wide range of dynamic contrast and very tasteful musical expression. This video isn't a good example but he also has a flawless legato line and excellent phrasing. His singing could be variable at times but usually he was spot on and when he was on, he was incredible, like here. Yes very few trebles achieve what he did.

certainly you cannot spot a Toelzer singer who carries with him a weak and wimpy sound:D They all end up performing with a rich, powerful and stupendous voice~

Woher wissen wir,dass du Alexander wirklich kennst? Auf mich wirkt der in Videos eher voll schüchtern. Viele Jugendliche im Alter von 15,16, 17 Jahren trinken und rauchen..Aber das hat ja nichts damit zu tun, ob jemand singen kann oder nicht...Wenn du ihn so gut kennst, frag ihn doch mal warum er so viel trinkt und ob er sich noch für Musik in irgendeiner Form interessiert.

Ich fand das Alter zwischen 13-16 schwierig:viele meinen sie müssten Drogen nehmen, um zur angesagtesten Clique zu gehören
