Stock stereo. I think it comes from when the ipod is being charged. If you reckon this one doesnt have any static/ whining then I will try one out.

@jamlucas What vehicle? Which transmitter do you have at the minute? The cheaper ones do tend to gain interference from time to time!!! Is a Transmitter specifically your after? You can get hard wired one's fairly cheap now days.

Hey mate, is there a whining noise of the engine through the fm transmitter. Because I have tried a few and as the revs change so does the whine coming from the transmitter through the speakers???

@jamlucas No, Do you hear it from the radio as well or just the transmitter? Its strange if that's the case as the transmitter is not physically connected to the car and uses the same method as the radio station would...

If its an aftermarket stereo? i'd check the grounding & possibly use an isolator loop if it continues.
