Al DOES NOT crash a lot. He is not scared to fly any of his planes, any of which costs thousands of dollars. He is a great modeler and he FLIES a lot!
When you fly a lot the chance of crashing increases.
I usually don't post uneventful and boring flights, so those of you who have no clue about this hobby may get the wrong impression. If you want to see how much and what we fly each weekend google Azalea City Model Aeronautics, Mobile, AL and check out my weekly Pits Reports.
You all must always have cameras on hand when this guy takes to the air, Just for You Tube. This man has got to have allot of money to burn, I just wish he would send some money my way...On second thought I could start mass producing model aircraft and just keep letting him buy from me.
really looks like reception problem to me and not reversed ailerons as you can see at the begining of the clip he did an aileron check.shame really as its such a lovely plane! hope its not to much of a rebuild.
@tisoy909 just my .02 which aint worth much these days. Theres alot that could have been done with that plane. Most of it before it left the ground!!!!!!!!
Bummer man I hate to see that on such a pretty war bird. How did it fair in the crash? Total loss or able to rebuild it? looked like servo reverse to me.
why in every single RC video do they fly the planes in wind? no wonder they crash them!

I think that hat is bad luck.
Indiana Jones had that hat and crashed everything he drove in and/or climbed on.
Dump the hat and try again!!!

Making a replica of my dad's plane, then crashes it, embarrassing on my part.

Put the sound track off, who wants to hear that geek saying the whole time "that´s not good" ..."that´s not good" ??

@ 0:57 you can see him put in the right rudder, must have been on his toes to react so well.

Showing all the hallmarks of tail heavy, no doubt.

That behavior is not radio malfunction. I had a Curtis P-40 with the same problem. I just burn it out after the 3th crash.
The CG was right, radio OK, engine perfect, etc. The only guess I have is a bad wing profile.

It's a White Man's hobby brutha. They intentionally placed a lead weight in your tail to make you crash. Ha!

hmm i cant see an ariel on that tx, 35 mhz or 2.4 g hz ???? just a thought
diver005 2 years ago
We fly on 72MHz or on 2.4GHz.
Al used a 2.4GHz transmitter, which has a very short antenna.
Ailerons were not reversed. He took of with controls on high rates, instead of low rates, which surprised him and finally did him in...

And then those HVAC lines -cripes of mighty!
Great video though I hate to see a plane do unschegeled airobatics like that! Forgive my spelling!

Any idea what caused the crash? Reversed ailerons? So sad, beautiful aircraft.
