lol yabo....the hinged floorplate is for a purpose...not to have a magazine and yes you do have to reload by retracting the bolt back everytime...it's not a auto load. ADL is a cheaper model and the BDL is the more expensive one. They both load and unload the same.

Anyone real familiar know if theres a M700 BDL WITH DM CHAMBERED IN .308 ive searched and searched but cant find one...i think they used to make em with the walnut model but not the synthetic model...??

I have a Remington 700 BDL 30-06 detachable mag model. it is wood and blued barrel, it is a beauty! It is my favorite rifle for deer and elk sized game. Theodore Roosevelt went to Africa and killed lions with a 30-06. There are a lot of other great calibers available as well. The 30-06 is my favorite rifle caliber.

@yabodmon the BDL is Rem. 700 with a fancy wood stock and high gloss blued steel barrel and reciever. I have a BDL in 243 win with a newer Redfield scope. it is a killing machine.

@yabodmon i know this is kind of late (8 months) but by reading all the other comments i noticed you did not get a correct answer. BDL means it has a hinged floor plate that when opened dropped the bullets in the magazine out and you do not need to cycle the bolt each time to extract the unspent rounds, it is a safer way of unloading a gun, ADL means you do not have that feature and have to cycle the bolt to unload it. also SA is any gun chambered in a round .308 and under and LA is above .308

@BurroBurrito1 actually sa is any chambering in a short action cartridge which can be bigger than a .308 such as a .325 wsm, la is longaction and a cartridge like a 25-06 is smaller than a 308 but is a long action cartridge.

generally a short action is any round .308 or under, doesn't mean there is isn't exceptions, but ya generally under .308 is short action and over .308 is long action
