I have a 1997 1.9l with 155,000 miles. It has been properly maintained and runs like a new car. It has its weak points but they are much fewer than most cars. Garage it, maintain it and then figure out the average monthly cost over ten, fifteen or twenty years and they are a true bargain. Mine was made in the USA.

Great tribute to a special little roadster. We've had 2 of these- one was a 1997 silver 1.9 and one was a 2001 topaz blue 2.2 model. Still don't know why we sold the blue one :( However tomorrow we are picking up our 3rd Z3! whoop lol its a 1999 sterling grey 2.8 model with some mods like supersprint exhaust and ac schnitzer detailing and rims etc. Might put a vid up here of it some time..;)

The miles has NOTHING to do in a car ESPECIALLY in a BMW engine, I own 2 BMW's and i am member in 3 BMW clubs, this engines are REALLY made for 1,000,000+km... If the engine is "clean" and you see no other problems in the interior-exterior (especially the interior, it's the weak point) just hit it!

It's a great car, recently became a "Classic" BMW in BMW's relative list, you will just love it and enjoy every mile with it, trust me, mine is one of the first ever produced with LOTS of extras and it still turns a lot of heads! NO PROBLEMS AT ALL, now it has 160.000km. Just try to buy at least the 6cyl, 2.0liter engine or more, try to avoid the 4cyl engines 1.8&1.9...

might be, but it is the smallest 6-cylinder. better sound, much smoother running engine. the smaller ones are 4-cylinder-engines.

If you're comfortable spending 13,900 then go ahead, but personally I'd get the higher mileage for 7,000. But that's also because my current car (4Runner) has 100,000 miles and runs great still

BMW Z3 is one of the best cars in the world, good looking, well performing and the convertible roof is just amazing. I have 1,9I liter and even when lot of cars are faster than me, I know that it is not about speed, but about the great feeling of going 60-90 km/h and be totally relaxed. To buy BMW Z3 was one of the greatest thing, that happned to me. Nice video!

I've got this car in Silver. In addition to a Black Porsche, Black V-12 S600. I live in the states, but this car is what I outside of the states. When I drive it around, it turns heads, even the old school folk nod, they say 'nice looking car'. It is really a beautiful car - I tool it to 220km/hr last week. Real smooth and easy. I'm pretty good looking as it is, but in this car, the chicks go crazy for me.
