@wannabenj In this video both vehicles are Rescue trucks. In most fire departments there are three types of large vehicles, this sort which are Rescues, traditional fire engines (which carry a tank full of water and a pump), and ladder trucks, which have a large ladder or elevated platform on the vehicle. Fire Departments typically call the pumpers an "Engine", while they call the ladder trucks a "Truck".
USR-D "water rescue support unit" is housed at station 5 who are also USAR trained. Engine 5 personnal also complete the 6 people needed for a Cal EMA Heavy Rescue Deployment. USAR 34 currently has 5 person staffing although this may change in the near future. USR-C "Structural Collapse Support unit and USR-E"Trench/Con space support unit" are usually housed at station 34.USR A and B combined are a Cal EMA Heavy Rescue and can carry the entire cache on both units. @FFahall In San Jose Engines have been 4, Truck Companies 5. The USAR is considered a Truck Company when it comes to staffing, so my first answer would be 5.
In the last month the Union and City agreed on some changes, one of which was reducing truck company staffing to 4. I don't know when that commences, it may be a July thing when the fiscal year starts, or it may already have happened.
@jazzbutterworth Just this week his Doctors announced that Bryan Stow is showing "significant improvement" and has been able to follow simple commands. In real terms however, Stow is awake and breathing on his own but he cannot speak. Stow can move slightly on command and turn his body toward someone who is talking to him
So not OK, but improved from Comatose, which is how we was for many many weeks.
