This video would be picture perfect if the quality was better, but none the less, it's still an awesome video. If youtube still had the 'star' system I would give this video 5 stars, but for now I'll give it a 'like'
airbus thought that they could stop a plane with just brakes so they didn't put any reversers on at all but fa made them put on atleast 2 so thats what they did. also by doing that they lowered the weight of the aircraft
Dont talk shit! They only added the 2 inboard engines equipped with thrust otherwise the power of the engines will blow all the unhardened surface around the runway away, because some runways are wide enough.
All of the answers here are, to my knowledge, incorrect.
The outboard engines don't have thrust reversers because they are about 25 meters away from the centreline of the aircraft. That means on a lot of airports the outboard engines aren't above the paved runway.
Having a thrust-reverser above non-solid ground could kick up debris forward, greatly increasing the chance of this debris getting sucked into an engine, which can destroy or damage the engine.
on a standard 45m wide runway the outboard engines are actually in the dirt so it would flick up a lot of FOD that could be ingested by the engine etc
Why are the hydraulics so loud lwhen the flaps retract? Reminds me of a carwash dryer starting up lol

I've never understood why only the inboard engines on the A380 are equipped with thrust reversers.
