I have a really weird experience with this. I'm from Minneapolis. My high school sweetheart was born on Salt Spring Island. His mother knew these people and somehow our 15-year-old relationship, as well as our friendship now, has been vastly soaked in the Pumkin. (He had just taken up the Appalachian dulcimer when we started dating which surely contributed.) I was compelled to buy all the records from Shari last summer. She has a bunch of copies under her stairs; if you need any, email her! :)
It bring me a lot of memories. I was there in Vancouver 1973-1974 when coffeehouses like The 1174, Le Chat Noir, was the place to be. I saw Pied Pumpkin live in Stanley Park and it's was something that I will never forget. I even got the tape. Joe Mock was there without the rest of the band, who came later. Great show.
I saw Shari Ulrich in Comox BC on the weekend. What a great musician and singer !!
