"Modern Problems" is without a doubt Chevy Chase's worst movie, and my family always razzes me about liking this movie as a kid just because Chevy was in it. Still, if you enjoy seeing Chevy acting bad, it can be watchable. Can you imagine downloading the theme from "Modern Problems" on your iPod for a laugh?

This song was only made available on a Capitol release 45 rpm. It was released to radio stations and was intended to coincide with the movie's release. Tubes were quite an act to follow back in the day. They used elaborate costuumes and gave up one hell of a performance live.

I can see now why the promotion campaign included a full-page ad in Boys-Life Magazine. Probably would have never noticed it, or even bothered to see it otherwise all these years later, when I'm able to appreciate the nature of it's nuances & humor.

I think the reason for this song being so hard to find is because of the publishing rights. The song was written by the movie soundtrack author(Not The Tubes).

The CD version is impossible to find. It could be the Premium Gold Collection was pulled because of this songs rights. I have the full length stereo version that I transferred from the single that was released in 1981, if anyone wants it.

For some reason, The Tubes have made this song very difficult to get to. You'll find it on The Tubes: Premium Gold Collection...but good luck finding that as it's been discontinued. Perhaps finding the Modern Problems soundtrack is easier. I'm sure there's an mp3 floating around somewhere.
