@getamacplease Ironically I don't think the King Favours Lese Majeste too much either and hve in the past asked for it not to be used! The King has no power to revoke the law because it was the government back then who made them. Other Royals (who's name I wouldn't mention) have used the law for their own ends.

Thais has a very profound respect for the Crown (particularly this King), something that is lost in western nations.
Democracy and Republicanism are not the same. Thai Kings has no real constitutional powers, but his word carries weight.
All that said Thais may want a Republic more after this King passes...
