IMHO one's experience with God is all in the mind. It is like an emotion, a feeling that is created by the mind's chemistry and the circumstances that one's state of mind is in at that moment in time.
i can verify that the only way to "experience god" is to become that state of absolute being (beyond relationship style experience). i was that. the "god" concept obviously came from that experience. but the concept sure is not god. i am.
You CAN have a direct relationship with God by remaining in a normal state of consciousness. If you change your state of consciousness you are doing what the Bible warns about and are getting into occultism. Being a believer in God means you have a relationship with the almighty father not that you experience a feeling. If you want a feeling then have a massage! You are just a New Ager masquerading as a believer of God. The Bible warns us about people like you.

The very impulse to argue a case, to convince others, the inclination to become disturbed as others disagree with us or offer opposing views - seem to distract us from our ability at direct experience of the truth. "He who replies to words of doubt doth put the light of knowledge out." (W. Blake.)
Repeatedly, persistently one can drop any interest in the possible errors of others - no matter how frequent and common they may be.

2: Doesn't the fact that you must "WANT" the experience taint the results?
3: For what possible reason would god hide himself?
You're making the remarkably common mistake of thinking atheists don't want there to be a god, and it's a painfully stupid, and remarkably ignorant assumption.
You think that the one group that prides itself on seeking knowledge, and truth would deny the provable existence of god... why?
he sound like a brainwasher that is not going to work on me lol lol he might be a preacher a very smart one but not that much, gods don't exist anywhere religions are a way to control humans minds
@escuingo2 I'm going to refrain from commenting on this video entirely b/c I can't pick up audio, but its premise is wrong. We are not to seek an "experience" but instead simply the truth; experiences can be misleading.
You need to seek the truth and not promote your lies, buddy. You're right that "gods" don't exist; there is one God, the God of the Bible.
This guy is right on with regards to states of consciousness - those who are wise will listen to this video clip. I'm not sure if he is a New Ager or a Bible-believer, but no matter what - any Christian mystic can agree with his statements on consciousness.
@jesusfreaks146 Don't sit there and promote mysticism, and don't attach the label "Christian" to it. It sounds like you've been attrending and giving undeserved credibility to false doctrine... from liars like Rick Warren, Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer, John Hagee, Billy Graham, Bayless Conley, etc..
I don't believe in God.I believe we're all connected by inner source of energy created by our brain. We reach deeper levels of consciousness meditating. Why watch this videos?I keep an open mind!If closed to other possibilities is living in a tunnel vision. One who thinks what they believe is ultimate truth & reality don't understand the God concept. How I can say this? I understand the concept watching videos like this& the bible, One doesn't need to believe a concept to understand it.
To the conflicting threads...if the people who are atheists don't believe in a god,why waste your time trying to prove people otherwise? If you were 100% certain he wasn't there, then why waste your time watching these videos? No offense to anyone, honestly just coming from an unsettled person.Oh!Beautiful videos morelife33
That's my point,NO ONE is sure about his existence. Not me or you or any other religous people.Just responding to my comment shows some sign of uncertainty and I wish no conflict with you either. :) Good Day
it's your duty to counter lies, just as it is a religious fanatics duty to counter lies?..it's an egotistical cycle of mentality which is what inevitably leads to violence and hate. by u not rising above your ego, u are contributing the exact same mentality as dogmatic religious fanaticism..there is only one truth..and that's a one love.
I cannot rationally describe as just, wise, and loving a Being who invented an eternal torture chamber in which to torment ANY of his creations, and who thinks it's appropriate to toss those he "loves" into that hell for "even the smallest lie." As for perfect... his angels fall and end up in hell, his humans fall and end up in hell, his own son tortured, and that, you would say, is all there is in this huge universe. A failed plan all the way around.
Dont forget, not just humans, how about all teh animals and insects/creatures that suffer and are abused, tortured and killed, for food, clothes, products and entertainment, etc. If God does exist, he is not teh loving God people think he is or alike, because all the books and scripts { bible, quran, etc, } all written by men { humans, who lie, cheat, etc} So yeah, they got it wrong, God if true, is just like us humans, Cruel Sadistic Beings. That would explain stuff easier.
You just showed us that you know absolutely nothing about God. Stop using the Bible to try and disprove God. Stop blaming God for all the faults of the World. It is us doing these things..NOT GOD! WAKE UP! He allows us to make mistakes so that we can learn from them. Like any good parent would do. No one can really destroy anything because it is all God. Were all in God's mind. ...man I'm getting tired of try to make you people realize......
"Like any good parent would do" "Dear Child, You are my offspring. Nothing will ever separate you from my love. I will always comfort you. Unless you don't believe me, or you're gay, or you voted for Obama, in which case I will torture you for ever and ever in the torture chamber I made. You know I'll do it, too. I already tortured and mutilated and killed and abandoned my only REAL son. Trust me. Your loving Father, God."
god isn't empirical truth..he is only true to one who has a complete faithful mind..if u have utter faith that he exists, than he exists..it's not like an invisible odorless gas..it either does exist or it doesn't, no matter what u believe..god is an intangible..if u truly believe he exists first intrinsically, then he exists extrinsically in everything u perceive..belief in such a companion is freedom..after one accepts his existence, they are free mentally and physically.
poof means to materialize..if god exists,he is intangible..not invisible, but intangible..many people have sensed him..the same way we sense everything in the material world thru sight, taste, smell, sound, and feeling..many people report a 6th sense..when u see and taste an apple u KNOW it exists right?..if someone were to tell u that it didn't, it wouldn't matter to u, because u know what your senses detected..many people experience this with god..there is no way to explain it..for some, god just is
i know, because he is imaginary..god requires imagination before one can even begin to believe in him..it requires thinking outside of the box. it requires confronting the possibility that there may be a reality which transcends the reality that our 5 senses can perceive..we all have a choice of what to believe..and that's whether to believe that this is all there is to reality, or that there is something else afterwards to transcend to..what do u chose to believe?
Yes I agree you can apply the scientific method to Spirituality, by applying your objective experiences and testing them against those of others, in a sense making it an objective "spiritual science", whereas I agree regular science is trapped in a material box. That will change in time when eventually a huge paradigm shift occurs
Even now some scientists are looking into the border between mind and matter... as these investigations continue perhaps even the illusion that spirit and matter are separated will become hard to keep intact
scientists????? you guys want to bring them into this?? you can't be serious!!! Science studies and seeks material matters, not God. Mystics and saints seek God, they are Spiritual Scientists so if you want to know about God, go to them.
The scientific method in and of itself is not in opposition to spirituality. Unfortunately, current science is locked in a materialistic world view in which nothing beyond the material universe is even considered. Unless they dare to look beyond this paradigm, scientists will only see material answers and evidence.
ooops.. Gregg Braden is an interesting Guru. He can explain the relation of human compassion with our DNA. Just to give you a brief... our emotion produces vibratory waves that alters/ turn on our DNA. Which means that we have a control of our selves. Spirituality is no longer a mystery but science as we know it.
I totally agree! We shouldn't have to bring SCIENTISTS into religion. We know enough about God from the Bible. Shouldn't the Bible be enough proof? I think it is. We don't need science to prove it. That's what attracts atheists. They think there's no proof because they're not reading the Bible, but they're listening to scientists instead, who deny certian things about God. We should listen to the Bible and believe it. I do!!!
I dont believe in God no. And i believe science more then bible yes. But i can say that i dont even CARE if there was no science. I will never believe in god. It have never touch my heart once. I had believe a little when i was kid. But when i grew up i have learned its all lies. That the whole world is hidden in illusions. God have never shown me what good he had did.
samplesbank1. - yrs ago romans forced us into religion, everyone was foced to believe. Some may have denied it and they would of been killed so most feared to question it. eventually a collected amount of people got fed up and wanted to explore the world and science grew. But the first wave of this movement came from a world which was dominated by religion and Belief's. Therefore science today has evolved from a need many yrs ago to break away from belief's so science is an extension of that.
Interesting discussion - but again, I have to suggest that the video misrepresents the views of most scientists in an important way. The experiences of scientists are clearly not limited to sensory perceptions and the material universe alone. The thousands of intricate theorems in mathematics are perhaps the clearest example. A theorem is clearly not a physical object, and cannot be sensed - yet the experience of understanding it can be had by all - just like love, wonder, and other emotions...
Each theorem has its own message about completely abstract (non-material) things.
From the fundamental theorem of calculus to complicated theorems on infinite dimensional Hilbert spaces - each is describing relationships between non-material mathematical structures. Even the fact that a few of these theorems have a direct use to scientists pondering the real world, doesn't make them any less non-material - yet alone those that have found no application whatsoever...
Many thanks for your usual patience in considering other points of view. I think you might agree that holding the above view point is relevent to what you say in the video - in which case, I'm interested in understanding which part(s) of it you disagree with. From this point of view their is no such person as the material scientists you describe. In fact to me, the idea of them seems to be itself an example of a non-material thing :)...
@mediteight This video irks me tremendously with its push to "experience" God. We are to rely on the faculties of reason and wisdom for discernment, not to mention praying for discernment from Him, and seek the truth. We are not to seek an experience. The heretical megachurch of today is full of "experience" and "spiritualism", and neither is intrinsically good. It's no wonder that abortion, gay rights, the myths of evolution and "safe sex" (their definition, anyway), permeate our society.
It is as Jesus has always said; the ego or the dualistic mind will never understand the reality of God for it is created outside of that reality! Let us think and question our own egos instead... make them feel ashamed of being so selfish and wanting to always be right... when as a matter of fact, they actually do not exist within the true reality of God! hehehe...

"if the people who are atheists don't believe in a god,why waste your time trying to prove people otherwise?"
It's our duty to counter lies.
And one might turn your question around, too-
if you were REALLY sure that god exists and that he's your buddy, why would you go on and on about it?
If someone told me my wife wasn't real
I would laugh and go on about my business.
Because I'm sure.

humans create gods in their own image.
