The Bravery took the name of this song from a fellow New York band called Split Me Wide Open and knocked them off search engines. They came, posed and went but this Ill gotten song title remains in the way.
You're referring to the Falsetto voice he uses in the chorus right? "Nothing Saaaaaaaaaaaved" etc. Falsetto, projecting a higher voice from your throat without using an increase in speed attack/volume. Michael can sing though, 2:45 in this video and the song Dandy Rock by The Bravery show that well.
It sounds to me like The Bravery would kickass to see live. This is just like the album. I luv the comments from idiots who think tht a live recording on a personal camera is gonna b the studio recording. They sound awesome.
It's very deep, yet simple. I think it's a very personal song, which I identify with. It's basically dedicated to someone who sees "inside" the person, who knows him better than anyone else... sniff.
My favorite song from them ever and I JUST discovered it recently on Pandora! :)

What does Split me wide open think of this song? Maybe the Bravery thought up the title out of the blue.
