i remember as a child my first experience with a baby eating was my niece and she would get food everywhere and i would just gag when i saw it. she was a nasty little baby. she ended up learning table matters though lol
My brother is lucky with his daughter. The cleanest feeding area I've ever seen. she's only two but she uses a spoon and fork perfectly, not a spill on the table or on her.
Feeding is probally one of the most fun parts of watching them grow up. Grandson is already using the spoon at 10 months will say tho the dog sitingunder him at feeding time DOES have its advantages
I had to teach my best friends' child how to eat.. she was almost three by that time so she was really enthusiastic about learning to eat like a big girl ^_^
Little tip - the meat isn't required, but if you want to give it, one way to kill the smell and maybe even the taste a bit... mix it with the veggies (think baby casserole)
my daughter has that wand, too!
And I agree... delay the move...the highchair helps contain the mess!
I missed this period of my child's life and put it at my mum-in-law's disposal sometimes i regret it, but mostly like to be on a distance of all these processes=)

My son was particularly fond of the grossest food possible. The first time he had sourkraut (sp?), he just shoveled it into his face, until he puked, and just kept shoveling.
Not the best story ever... But, hey... first comment. :p

That high-chair looks pretty hi-tech - does it help contain the mess? Do any of them?
