Whether pro-life or pro-choice a person has to deal with what they do- whether good or bad- and the outcome of it. I think God knows our heart, our deeds, etc. and judges each accordingly for our deeds, and where our soul will go in life. what you throw comes back to you, you just have to be careful the things you do, not just to yourself but others- you never know what the outcome can become or be...
I am pro-choice, but I do NOT condone using abortion as a birth control, I don't like the idea of one abortion but it is not my choice. I wouldn't abort, I couldn't do it no matter what. I am so happy my best friend is pregnant with her first child and as of right now there are no complications. I like you, you don't judge which is a real Christian behavior.
oh and even though there are no complications with her pregnancy can you pray that these last few months are just as good? I worry so much

Actually I do babysit, I am involved in Big Brothers/Big Sisters, I volunteer at a rape crisis center. You have no idea what I do. I even hope to adopt or be a foster mother one day. Many adopted chidren are loved just as much as one's own. I know it wouldn't matter to me if my kids were blood or not. Humans share 99.9% of the same DNA anyway. I am not against having biological children and I very well may do so but I feel more strongly about adopting. Many adoptees and adopted parents would be insulted by your statement.

I think you are missing the point. The point is, why do you get to decide who lives and who dies? To a pro-lifer, the fetus is a person, a human being from the moment of conception. Therefore, a pro-lifer cannot support abortion, as this is equal to murder. Why do you think the fetus is not a person? If it is not, then what is it?
Who decides? The pregnant person gets to decide. Zygotes can be frozen almost indefinitely, split into two and become two persons (identical twins), and don't even breathe air. I don't know how many people you can do those things to. Half of all zygotes die anyway, should death certificates be issued since zygote = full person?

Hello again. The woman is the one who is pregnant. No one's body can be used to keep another alive. That is slavery. Once you find someone that can be frozen indefinitely, not have to breathe on it's own but it still grows, swims, and divides, and can be split into one or more individuals you will have a case for the zygote being a "person". It's morally reprehensible to value something that has less independence and thought of my pet goldfish over a woman.

Before slavery was abolished, the medical and legal establishment, academia, intelligentsia, and all people of common sense viewed the black man as three-fifths of a person, and this was indeed their legal status. If you suggested that they were equal to a 'real' person you would have been laughed at.

It has to do wtih biological facts. The woman is keeping the fetus physically alive. If you shoot a pregnant woman in the head her fetus will die. If you shoot either the slave or master in the head the other is alive. The differences between a slave and a fetus are: Placenta, umbilical cord, yolk sac, uterine lining, uterus, swollen breasts, morning sickness, edema, preeclamsia, labor, corpus luteum, stretch marks, etc etc etc.
Moreover, in the controversy over slavery, as Lincoln himself admitted, there were legitimate goods at stake for the slaveholding South, among them security, self-preservation and the preservation of their way of life, states rights, specific constitutional guarantees, and a certain kind of honor. So I disagree with you. Your claim that the fetus is not a person is not at all self-evident to me. It is not 'obvious', in other words.

For about two hundred years prior to abolition, (no small amount of time), slavery was accepted as natural and common sense. I would only point out that it was not at all easy to bring men to see slavery as evil, particularly not once the practice of slavery was well-established in the life of the nation.

I don't think you know or have met any pro-lifers. Or if you have, it is possible you met a couple of assholes. I don't know. The ones I know are all church-goers. This does not give them a pass because they go to church. This means that almost all church-goers are duty-bound to volunteer and assist in their communities or overseas, or anywhere for that matter. Pro-lifers have no choice but to to help the poor in society.
I don't live in a vacuum shmiggen. I have lived across the country with people of all walks of life including prolifers. Most church goers I have met in my life are judgmental hypocrites who talk behind people's back. Yes, there are some good people who do good but most rather just feel all high and mighty. And the so called "good Catholic" people threatened to pull their charities out of Washington D.C. if D.C. legalized gay marriage. There are also many pro choice Catholics.
So since we are both pro-choice and that issue is resolved, we both agree in the legality of abortion, perhaps you could tell me why you are pro-abortion. This is where we are different. I am anti-abortion. When do you think the fetus becomes a person? 20 weeks? At birth? When the doctor cuts the umbilical cord? When the baby first makes a sound? When? I have told you I believe it is at the moment of conception. What do you believe? This is all I am asking.
Lastly, adopt a child or donate 1000 dollars to Doctors Without Borders and then tell me how pro-choice you are. Until then you are not pro choice but simply pro-abortion.
I plan on adopting once I am in a life position to do so. I donate roughly a grand to DWB each year depending on my finances and more to other charities. I am not pro abortion but I support a woman making what is the best interest of herself. A fetus is a person when it is no longer parasitic, aka birth. I do think that there are ethical issues concerning late term abortions because I don't believe i causing pain which a late term fetus could suffer. But the woman is still more important.

I am pro-choice, but I do NOT condone using abortion as a birth control, I don't like the idea of one abortion but it is not my choice. I wouldn't abort, I couldn't do it no matter what. I am so happy my best friend is pregnant with her first child and as of right now there are no complications. I like you, you don't judge which is a real Christian behavior.

I don't lash out at other people. I simply state my opinions. That's what these boards are for, correct? If you don't want to have an abortion fine. I'm not telling anyone what to do.
And I don't hide out in the shadows. I volunteer at my local planned parenthood to help walk in women who are being harassed.

Like I said. I have school, work, and my volunteer time. I don't have time to make a video now.
Actually I do babysit, I am involved in Big Brothers/Big Sisters, I volunteer at a rape crisis center. You have no idea what I do. I even hope to adopt or be a foster mother one day. That being said, I am still highly pro choice. I help these women not be harassed by people calling them all sorts of names as if that is going to stop them from having an abortion. I respect her choice.

The point I'm trying to confer is that many leftists try to make others feel guilty for having their own children. And no adopted children, while much loved and special are not the same as your own as you do not share the same DNA, family history, etc.

Have you ever witnessed these protesters? They are not singing sweet hymns or wanting to help these women. (And for the record, not all the women who are entering PP are even getting abortions), they are yelling sl-t, wh-re, b!tch as if that is going to make someone change their mind. At least at the clinic I go to. Some women (not a majority mind you, less than 1%) may try to start an argument and issues could escalate.

3.) Most women don't say anything when they miscarry. That is because most zygotes die before the woman even has any idea that she is pregnant. Most women when they miscarry believe that they are simply having a heavier than normal period.

Pretty much you have shown to me that you don't care if kids are murdered or killed after birth. You don't believe in adoption so what do you think will happen to the kid? Infanticide was pretty common until quite recently. Bringing a kid into this world that doesn't care for him or her is sure death.

Tax payer money goes to building homes for unwed mothers. It is something that one is forced to do whether you agree or not. Often conservatives whine and complain about this more than anyone else. Conservatives would rather the kids starve to death so that they can "pull themselves up by their own bootstraps".
I do not encourage or discourage anyone from abortion. I am there to prevent hysterical vigilantes from getting out of control. Do you think vigilantes are a good thing?

I've never heard to tax payer money funding homes for unwed mothers. Our church has sponsored a home for unwed moms all of my life through member contributions and also sponsors a orphanage.

Secondly, if you want to protect women from "vigilantes" as you put it a nice place to start is volunteering at battered women's homes. They nearly always need to help with cooking, clothing & food donations, cash donations, counseling, babysitting, educational programs........ etc, you can help protect women and children.

Many adopted chidren are loved just as much as one's own. I know it wouldn't matter to me if my kids were blood or not. Humans share 99.9% of the same DNA anyway. I am not against having biological children and I very well may do so but I feel more strongly about adopting. I find it interesting how many pro lifers claim that pregnant women should consider adoption but then you claim it's not the same. Many adoptees and adopted parents would be insulted by your statement.

I never said you meant to insult anyone, but many adoptees and adopters are insulted when people say they are not their real children. I have seen plenty of biological children abused by their parents so simply donating a sperm and an egg doesn't do jack. I think you are missing the point. The point is, why do you get to decide who lives and who dies? To a pro-lifer, the fetus is a person, a human being from the moment of conception. Therefore, a pro-lifer cannot support abortion, as this is equal to murder. Why do you think the fetus is not a person? If it is not, then what is it?

Who decides? The pregnant person gets to decide. Zygotes can be frozen almost indefinitely, split into two and become two persons (identical twins), and don't even breathe air. I don't know how many people you can do those things to. Half of all zygotes die anyway, should death certificates be issued since zygote = full person?
Adopt a child or donate 1000 dollars to Doctors Without Borders and then tell me how pro-life you are. Until then you are not pro life but simply pro-forced gestation.

The answer is because you have the right to, in a free society. What I don't understand is how you then deny this right to the unborn. The point isn't whether zygotes die, it is whether they are murdered. So really, this is the dilemma: pro-lifers think, yes, even a little zygote is an actual, 100%, person, from the moment of conception.

A unique DNA strand is formed at the moment of conception. By the fourth week of gestation a spinal cord, brain, hair, skin, circulatory and nervous systems are in the first stages of development. Indeed, it is not uncommon now for parents to witness their baby's heartbeat on a monitor via ultrasound by the sixth or seventh week of pregnancy. Why is it not morally reprehensible to end this life?

Hello again. The woman is the one who is pregnant. No one's body can be used to keep another alive. That is slavery. Once you find someone that can be frozen indefinitely, not have to breathe on it's own but it still grows, swims, and divides, and can be split into one or more individuals you will have a case for the zygote being a "person". It's morally reprehensible to value something that has less independence and thought of my pet goldfish over a woman.

I do see where you are coming from. I can understand your argument. However, I do want to remind you that this line of reasoning (that the unborn is sub-human) does have historical precedent. Before slavery was abolished, the medical and legal establishment, academia, intelligentsia, and all people of common sense viewed the black man as three-fifths of a person, and this was indeed their legal status. If you suggested that they were equal to a 'real' person you would have been laughed at.

It has to do wtih biological facts. The woman is keeping the fetus physically alive. If you shoot a pregnant woman in the head her fetus will die. If you shoot either the slave or master in the head the other is alive. The differences between a slave and a fetus are: Placenta, umbilical cord, yolk sac, uterine lining, uterus, swollen breasts, morning sickness, edema, preeclamsia, labor, corpus luteum, stretch marks, etc etc etc.

You are suggesting that it is self-evident, that it is 'obvious' the fetus is not a 'person'. For about two hundred years prior to abolition, (no small amount of time), slavery was accepted as natural and common sense. I would only point out that it was not at all easy to bring men to see slavery as evil, particularly not once the practice of slavery was well-established in the life of the nation.

This does not give them a pass because they go to church. This means that almost all church-goers are duty-bound to volunteer and assist in their communities or overseas, or anywhere for that matter. Pro-lifers have no choice but to to help the poor in society.

I don't live in a vacuum shmiggen. I have lived across the country with people of all walks of life including prolifers. Most church goers I have met in my life are judgmental hypocrites who talk behind people's back. Yes, there are some good people who do good but most rather just feel all high and mighty. And the so called "good Catholic" people threatened to pull their charities out of Washington D.C. if D.C. legalized gay marriage. There are also many pro choice Catholics.

I plan on adopting once I am in a life position to do so. I donate roughly a grand to DWB each year depending on my finances and more to other charities. I am not pro abortion but I support a woman making what is the best interest of herself. A fetus is a person when it is no longer parasitic, aka birth. I do think that there are ethical issues concerning late term abortions because I don't believe i causing pain which a late term fetus could suffer. But the woman is still more important.

After a rape without any family support and the false shame of guilt about maybe being pregnant yes the abortion "option" crosses the mind with great panic and sickness because it is "available" as an option. Some option!! To have been harmed once and then have the choice to further harm your own child. Thank goodness I wasn't pregnant because I still have panic, guilt and tears over "what if" to this day. That's how i know abortion is wrong. I share your tears Gerard and send you much love x
