  • I dont understand all the dislikes. You have to start out somewhere, and he is only 8.

also extra points for hipster kids

  • How can people dislike this??? He's 8!! Jesus Christ but people are ignorant. My 8 year old old self wouldn't have known one end of a drum kit from the other. Keep it up wee man!

  • No good ,,to slow lolz but keep practicing !!

  • For those who detest double pedal: If the double pedal is not needed, then why use two hands? Use this one! You have two legs? Use them!

  • Pretty good considering his age, I couldn't do this good unless I'm following notes on guitar hero, good job kid ^_^

  • better than my band's drummer.

  • I don't like his drum

  • Who found Travis Barkers childhood videos?

  • Keep it up little one, that's how the great one's started out!

  • he is ok,

  • You are right start the double bass early I am not a drummer I am a guitarist but guitarists usually start the band and when a guitarist sees a double bass they go he is my man xD but yeah I am teaching myself drums and I started out on a double :)

  • Keep Goin' and Practasin'

  • little EMO....

  • I'm confused.. Is that a bass drum or a floor tom with legs?

  • @SlipFoldSevenknot It is a floor tom with a Pearl bass drum conversion kit. Mostly intended for smaller jazz kits, but since a 22 inch kick was too big for my son, I used this.

  • OMG, I'm way better and I'm only 45! Ha ha... Just kidding. It's cool that he's into it and I'll bet he'll be a great drummer long before he's out of grade school!

  • @TEAMSTERDCHC you said it

  • i like it

  • wowowowowwww

  • this kid is pretty good

  • Its a really old drum solo 8 year :D

  • where is the bass drum?LoL

  • EMO HAIR!!! :D

  • That kid is SKILLED

  • You're supposed to practice both double and single, alternating between the two. Some kids do rely too heavily on the double kick and they lose out on the amazing volume control of playing with one foot.

  • What's with all the dislikes - the kid is playing an instrument and not a PS3, full cred to him.

  • Rock on little buddy!

  • Great JOB. My son is now 12. People would ask me why at age 5 did he have a double pedal and other stuff on his kit. You CAN play a double as a single without removing it. I wanted him to be able to sit at any kit, that is set up any way and play without taking an hour to move things around and not be intimidated by different stuff. Kids dont get much time to showcase especially with a band. Check him out now at age 12 on my page. jacobthetongue Keep it up as you know, it will pay off BET THAT!

  • Well.... the kid plays better than justin bieber

  • For such a young guy, that's pretty dope. Idk what's up with all the dislikes, i enjoyed this. I'm not gonna lie, im kinda jealous. I wish i had a badass kit like that when i was that young haha.

  • great vid

  • his bangs <3

  • his hair <3

  • awesome! do more! xDDD

  • ok i know hes 8 and stuff but ive seen better for a 8 year old.

  • u need a high hat

  • if you would like to hear real young drum talent go to igor falecki:)

  • do x2 speed from the start it takes a while 2 start but it is so funny but good on him for trying the drums

  • ive played many shows and gigs and this kid is already better than me

  • At least he beats me in knowing how to drum to the beat. I have no idea how to play drums.

  • Whats a double pedal

  • SICK FRULLET BRAH

  • aww hes so adorable and totally awesome :)

  • (Reply to comments:) Ok, why the hell are people arguing about a double kick?

(Reply to video:) You're gonna go far, Kid.

  • thumb up if you liked it just because of his crazy hair cut!:DD

  • This kid is good, but I have one question for you. Where is the hi-hat? Did you decide to leave it out or something?

  • very experimental :) i liked it. he's got skillzz

  • all you people seem to overlook the fact that this is an 8 year old having fun making music. stop arguing over something so stupid.

  • @NOORPHANSTUBE

geeezzzz....seriously, people can be so critical, the kid could be 2 and some dumbass would find a way to criticize.

  • If you speed it up to 2x speed it becomes a REAL drum solo!

  • well one thing wtf no high hat and plus all people should atleast have 4 or 5 peice drum kit he has 2 drums and like 12 symnols but gotta give it to him hes beter than me a the symbols

  • @GETMORESWEETGRUBS *hi-hat *piece *cymbals *better. He does have an auxiliary hat on the right side, kind of out of view because if the rack. 1 snare, 1 rack tom, 1 floor tom... ummm, that's a 4 piece kit.

  • Cool little drumkit. Keep on doing what you're doing young drummer. cursedswordsman...do you know anything about drums?

  • 0_0

  • This kid has got some talent..someday, he will for sure make it to the Big Time...hurray...

    -You go little dude..

(despite all the other dickheads here, I think his hair looks adorable)

  • two piece drum set? I love the double kick \m/ but atleast get a tom xD

  • amazing drumming but..... GET THIS KID A HAIR CUT. lol :P

  • go little dude!

  • Awesome! Nice hair btw

  • GET A HAIR CUT also really great job! :D

  • he doesnt have a hi hat

  • Why have a double bass if hes only learning most ppl who learn double bass before they master the single bass use the double bass more and hands less which results in lazyness and bad sound

  • @Drumstarification UGH. I am so sick of repeating myself. Why NOT learn double kick early on? Is there truly such a thing as mastering single kick anyhow? I played single kick for about 12 years before I bought a double, and I am SO mad at myself for having the same ridiculous attitude that you have. I mean, should they only learn right hand techniques first, master those, and THEN add the left? Umm, no. I have been teaching for 21 years now, and I think it's fine to learn double early.

  • @jacobthetongue although i agree with you that there's no reason for someone not to learn a double kick pedal, it's also important that he someday learn how to handle himself with a single pedal as well. there are techniques that a person will be far less likely to learn with steady access to a double kicker and unless he learns some of these techniques his feet will always be weaker than someone learning to emulate the double pedal with a single kick.

  • @chesterburmingham for sure. I don't want people to get the wrong idea in that he HAS to only learn double kick. About 80% of what he plays now is really only single anyhow. I played single kick for about 15 years before I bought a double, and I sure wish I would have started double a lot sooner. It is better to have the skill and not need it, then need it and not have it. In the 22 years I have been teaching drums, I have never regretted starting them early on double.

  • @jacobthetongue U might be right , but what i u take away his double , he is going to have trouble using one kick.

  • @Crazyyyyyyyx No, he won't. He plays one just fine...

  • @jacobthetongue it just depends what's you're prefered style man...I mean I can't come at you with logical points and facts because I know you're older and clearly know like more than I can decribe about drums than I do, but I personally hate double bass and give myself kudos everytime I see a kid my age playing double bass. Yes, you can master single kick..

  • @jacobthetongue Yeah I agree. I don't play double kick, but it's a good skill to have.

  • @jacobthetongue I agree with you. It's better use your both legs equally right at the beginning than years later. Many years could be lost when one leg just don't do nothing, or do very litte.

  • his pretty good

  • Holy crap Jacob! Just stumbled upon this, he's awesome!! Great timing for someone his age! Inspired me to go work more on a song I'm learning (Take it All by Hillsong)

  • no its fine but like he could go on his tiptoes or heel so he can go to a desirable rate or u can just go that speed single on a single bass pedal then after you get faster add the double bass pedal but again i AM ONLY 12.

  • well im just a 12yr. old guy whose in marching band and in jazz band just curious on y a little kid has a double bass

  • @john98245 Like I have said above, why NOT have a double pedal? I mean, double pedal is a very common tool in drumming, yet so many people seem to have some sort of issue with it? I don't get it.

  • @jacobthetongue It means you don't learn to properly control the kick, and trains bad habits.

  • @tomofthecheese Where in the world did you get that info? I have been teaching drums for 22 years, and I have never ONCE had a student with an issue of "properly controlling the kick". I can assure you, that learning double pedal is NOT an issue to technique.

  • @jacobthetongue i can do double or single doubles a little faster but my single is almost as fast

  • @jacobthetongue im a metal head so i INCOURAGE it! :)

  • @jacobthetongue I totally feel you, there's nothing wrong with a double pedal, but to some people a double pedal is kind of tacky and many people (including me) think that it's good to master single pedal technique before using a double pedal. Also, double bass is only needed in a very limited range of styles. However, I don't think there's anything wrong with having (I have one myself) as long as you don't overuse it. This kid rocks, by the way.

  • @jacobthetongue, I played for years on a single bass. Later on, I wanted to play a double bass, so I purchased a new set of drums. I tell you, the double bass pedal wasn't an option in my day.......LOL. I have 2 sons that play drums. One is in his 20's, and has been with a band for many years now. My youngest son is 10, ans he's been playing since age 4. He begin on a single bass pedal. However, it didn't take him long to get the basics down and start asking for a DBP.

  • @thetubezur I too played for many years with only a single (remember back in the day when people called a double a "cheater" pedal? lol ), and in many ways, I am totally fine with that. The early doubles were garbage, so I didn't miss out on much that way. I think it is just nice to have the weapon at your disposal, and be taught how to use it when appropriate. I mean, I use my double pedal for metal and fills, and never even BRING it to 90% of my gigs.

  • @jacobthetongue oh, no doubt. My new kit, at that time, was a double bass kit. That was back in the day where most of us used one drum head. I can't really see any harm in which method one employs, as kids these days absorb this stuff like a sponge. I would have been like a kid in a candy store if the tecnology was available in my day. When I tell my kids that I paid for my very first drum set by cutting grass and selling coke bottles, they look at me like I'm crazy....lol

  • @jacobthetongue would you shut up kid..leave him be...if this kid likes using the double bass..then it is none of your business..the important thing is..he is having a good time..so keep your mouth shut

  • @29Eeyore ummmm, I built him that kit. He has the double because I put it there. Not sure what you are getting at....

  • @jacobthetongue I wasn't getting at anything bad. At least not intentionally, I apologize if I have offended you. By the way, You did a good job building that kit!

  • what up with the double bass

  • @john98245

uummmmm..... why not double bass??? I have been teaching for 21 years now, and I can't see a reason why not...

  • what with the hair?

  • This would have been cooler if I hadn't seen Jonah Rocks yet.

  • @jayjar8Quigonwest Oh man, that kid ROCKS! I can't wait to see when he is like, 25. Hope he sticks with it!

  • a new drumer 4 avenged sevenfold

  • Ese niño va ser bien bueno

  • good job....check out Hollywood Undead website for an amazing kid drummer

  • haha, he's got a double bass pedal, but no high hat. i hope thats changed. but anyway he's quite talented.

  • @boothole312 Actually, he does have a remote hat on his right on that kit. He is now playing on my full size kit, which has 2 hats on it.....

  • This kid isnt great but for his age at the time he is brilliant.

  • Double kick is goin

  • the next Tommy Lee right there... :) He's great! :)

  • My spidey sense envisions a future metal drummer in the making...

  • @VirusMan254 We can only hope Virus, we can only hope.....

  • Nice Hawk lol

  • were is the hi-hat

  • @mib312 His hi-hat is mounted on the right side, using a Pearl Auxiliary hi-hat mount. Because of the height of the kit, a standard hi-hat stand was just too tall.

  • wut kind of kit is tht lol nice job and is that a floor tom as the bass drum?

  • do you have the gerbralter rack? and i cant spell it i hope you know what im talking about.

  • @girldrummer4Christ Yes! I modified a standard curved Gibraltar rack, using the 2 curved side bars as the main supports for the rack. From straight on, it kinda looks like a Japanese temple! lol. I have used a number of racks in the past, and I swear by the Gibraltar rack system. SUPER solid.

  • @jacobthetongue how old are you now?

  • @girldrummer4Christ That's actually my son, and he just turned ten. I need to do a new vid, as he has improved a LOT!!!

  • hes the next tommy lee

  • NIce?

  • SOO adorable!!

  • called a jungle jig. Gives a pretty sweet jazzy punch if you can tune the floor tom right

  • Yeah, and I am pretty picky about the tuning of my own kits. Unfortunately, the camera isn't picking up any of the tone of the "kick". I use an Evans EC2 on the batter and a G1 on the reso. I use a Gibraltar tone control on the outside of the batter to tighten it up, no internal muffling.

  • @jacobthetongue just buy some "moon gel" online. goes for about 3 to 6 dollars and takes away overtones, making them a lot easier to tune

  • @passion4drums I disagree actually! While Moon Gel is great for removing overtones, I think it is much more difficult to tune with it on. The overtones should be used as part of the tuning process. Also, I prefer zero external muffling. I WANT the drums to have some resonance. I don't even muffle my own kick drums, just use an EMAD on all of them.

  • lolz. sweet hair!

  • The future tommy lee!!!! Soon, he'll be asking for neil peart's drum kit

  • this kid is going somewhere

  • double bass!! jeje is so cool!

  • A kid with a double pedal! I know adults who can't do that. Rock on little guy.

  • k kuko !

  • Haha hes a little prodige

  • is that a floor tom for his bass if so that is awesome

  • @jamesmaglione Yeah, I used a conversion kit from Pearl, that allows you to mount any floor tom as a kick. Pretty cool.

  • i believe it is

  • what a killer drum set up!

  • \m/ \m/ much respect to the little man

  • hes got rhythm :P

  • Haha, this little dude is a pure badass! Buy this little guy a pro drumset, he deserves it!

  • sweet drummin

    Did he win?

  • thats one sick rack! XD awesome 4 a 8 year old!

  • hhaha awesome kit.

  • thats the cutest thing i have ever seen

  • Lol kwl but why does he have a double base pedal?

  • well, why not? lol

  • awesome

  • lol thats cute

  • that is the coolest little kit :D

  • Haha sweet
