  • Let me be the tour guide for you;-) I lived in the Wildwoods year round 1982-1996

    14-16 seconds in used to be the Grand Hotel that was knocked down for the massive thing!

    1:23 in on the right used to be the Captains Table (an iconic restaurant knocked down now)

    3:13 in you should have made a right! ha

    4:06 tennis courts on the right then the crest library across

    4:35 on right crest pier recreation center the locals called "the rec" many winters as a teen playing basketball there!

    Hi Eddie, Thanks for comments/tour.I plan on doing another one- this time will make the right! Hubby was driving..haha

    Grand Hotel was boarded up at one point.The Grand now is a massive beautiful structure, but IMO is out of place cause of it's size.Did you know that 2more structures were planned to be completed 1 after the other next 2 ea other & across the street? The housing crash changed those plans!

    That iconic restaurant looked like it belonged @ the beach. Too bad!

    When I get time, I will annotate with your notes - thanks!

  • Its heartbreaking to see this video... the Seahorse Motel on Atlantic and Surf is gone. My grandparents used to take me there every summer. The condos look like crap. Sorry, but they do. the 1970's and 1980's were the glory days of Wildwood. Castle Dracula was still there too. Wildwood has been destroyed.

  • Wow - almost 100 classic motels destroyed, which were such a unique aspect of the Wildwoods, replaced by a horrid mish mosh of cheap, bland, non-descript plastic & vinyl. Driving through them now, the Wildwoods could pass for almost any cookie-cutter, yuppified shore town north of them. Glad to find out about the sheer number of condo units which remain unsold or unrented - maybe sort of like a "payback" for the developers' greed and the short-sightedness of the towns' officials. Oh well.

  • @Onneff69

    I think WW, especially the condos/homes with pools, etc. have been experiencing record rentals over the past few years. Not sure how the classic motels (those that are left) are doing since they are not as big/nice as the condos, yet the prices are not much different. I've been told by many that they used to stay in the motels, but love the condos more. To each their own.

  • Cool natural production,no goofy music or anything like that;
