  • Dramcast es mejor...

  • Just out of curiosity, what makes the sega saturn port the best port of street fighter alpha 3? I see it being a "better" port of the PSone port due to the fact that there are virtually zero load times, but what would make this port better than the DC port?

  • is it just me or did they mix up vega and m bisons name, and perhaps m bison's name, the character it was on, anyway, is someone else?

  • @hastyarcader where have you been like last 20 years? it's their original canon intended names, it's usa who got mix up because of the localization issues, everyone knows that, lol..

  • I've just picked up Zero 3 for the Saturn, it was the last game released. I only rate the Saturn for 2D fighters.

  • @borobengal that's stupid that you rate it for 2D fighters baby cakes

  • I love the saturn. Great system, like the dreamcast they didn't have enough time to shine :(

  • this is really close to the dreamcast version which is fucking impressive

i wish they had released virtua fighter 3 and shenmue on saturn, they finished them but never published them

  • The PS1 version isn't as good as the Saturn version but at least US gamers can still get the Dreamcast version.

  • I wanted to say that I was testing out the ps2 version (alpha anthology) with something called slg3000. At sharpest settings without filter, every pixel per scanline matches. So aside from resolution, what appears to be inaccurate compared to what I'm seeing here?

  • Awesome I import this game a few year ago and it plays freaking great, definitely ten times better than the waterdown PS1 version. Sega Saturn is the king of 2D arcade fighting games right behind Neo Geo AES, Sega Dreamcast, Super NES, and Sega Genesis.

  • @blueswan1984

How can the Saturn be the "King of 2D arcade fighting games", when you say it's behind "Neo Geo, Dreamcast, Super Nes, and Mega Drive"?

    Bit of an oxymoron no?

  • @ExtremeBogom Yeah you're right, I meant in the era it was release in so Saturn is the king of 2D arcade fighters in the 32-Bit era.

  • this one is even better then the dreamcast one, saturn isn't a flop, together wwith dreamcast it's the awesomest 2d horse.

  • Oh my, Sega Saturn so rules.

  • and this didnt get released in the u.s why?

  • @mrfeelgoodful

Too late in the Saturn's life.

  • Oh Fuck ! the saturn Version Is much better than the ps one version , Really the Saturn Graphics in 2D was Amazing, Also the sounds in the saturn version is clear and more realistic . SEGA RuleZ !

  • I have to say the frames, sprites, and graphics are perfect since the sega saturn version requires a 4MB Ram cartridge.

The game especially characters look good on the sega saturn.

The sega saturn controller is perfect for playing SFZ3.

And the artwork for the game(on the case and cd) looks better than the one(s) on the PS and sega dreamcast.

The only thing I want to improve the audio of the announcer's voice, can anybody help? lol.

  • STREET FIGHTER ZERO 3 (Upper)

  • Good but does not compare to the dreamcast version!

  • @zeogeox The Dreamcast version is actually worse. Capcom screwed up in their porting when they upscaled the graphics and the hit detection isn't right. So the game may look good, but it doesn't play like the Arcade at all. The Saturn version has all the content of the Dreamcast and PS1 versions, but is an Arcade Perfect port as well, meaning it plays exactly like the Arcade.

  • Looks super sharp on the good ole Saturn.

  • I remember the ps1 version being total crap, but I am glad I bought recently Street Fighter Zero 3 on sega saturn, waiting for it to be delivered.

  • im trying to get this working

My emulator says Unsuitable disk for this system

    Can u help me

  • the sega saturn controller was great for this kind of games. i hated it playing this game with my ps both with the cross and the analog stick, it just didnt worked right.

  • i still dont understand y the game was released in europe :s

  • awesome stuff i think the saturn is the best 2d home console excluding the latest gen consoles, guardian heroes guve the neo a run for it's money.

  • the best console to play street fighter zero 3! fuck PSX version!

  • @ThinkShootRun nope the dreamcast is the best

  • but then again, sega dreamcast controller only had 4 buttons in front while sega saturn controller had 6 buttons in front. i say sega saturn still the best for playing street fighter zero 3.

  • @ThinkShootRun and a better version than the saturn is the sega dreamcast ;-).

  • @capcom23 Actually it's not. The Dreamcast version has smaller sprites and isn't as crisp looking as the Saturn version. Also there's some issues with the the way the game plays which makes it a bit broken and not Arcade Perfect. Certain issues with V-ISM timings make the Dreamcast version one of the least preferred versions. The only home version to beat the Saturn port is the PS2 port, and even it has some aspects that the Saturn beats it in.

  • @SegaFanatic5188 Well i'm glad I have the arcade version as well :-). Long live Mame, lol

  • @SegaFanatic5188

The problem I have with the PS2 version is it's resolution. It's not native, it's been upscaled.

That stops it from being the ultimate home version for me...

Of course if you have Xbox1 with all the FBA / Mame stuff you can play arcade flawlessly.

  • @ExtremeBogom That was exactly what I was talking about when I said "And even it has some aspects that the Saturn beats it in." Basically where the PS2 version beats the Saturn version is with the dipswitch settings you can change to set it to your liking. But other than that the Saturn port is identical and in some cases better, such as the native resolution.

  • @SegaFanatic5188

Ah OK that's interesting. I admit I've never played the PS2 one, just seen the videos.

I know dip switches are something that you can change in a lot of arcade games, but what exactly do they do?

Can you change difficulties, or game speed or anything?

  • @ExtremeBogom Basically it allows you to get all the different revisions of the game and what not.

  • @ExtremeBogom

I hate playing Street Fighter or any fighting games on XBOX... the controller fucking sucks compared to Saturns controller.

  • @GamingPalooza

Yeah, the Sega Saturn controller is my favourite for fighting games.

When it comes to the Xbox controller, they came close with the first BIG controllers because at least the white and black buttons was next to the other buttons.

It's a shame they changed it rfor the small controllers...

  • @SegaFanatic5188

it's weird if the dreamcast isn't arcade perfect, considering the last version of street fighter alpha 3 (upper) was on the naomi arcade board which dc is based on. they moved the arcade hardware from cps-2 to naomi, weird they would do that if naomi couldn't faithfully reproduce it. sprites are probably smaller because naomi\dc runs in a higher resolution.

  • @ThinkShootRun

I must say... the Sega Saturn controller is the greatest controller for fighting games... playing Street Fighter with this controller was fkn INSANE... best D-Pad ever... I wish they used the Saturn D-Pad on the dreamcast controller.

  • @GamingPalooza agreed. easy to play any SF series with it and i still have it.

  • @ThinkShootRun The best version is on the Dreamcast.

  • @borobengal Incorrect. The sprites are bigger and the characters have more frames of animation in this one.

  • @ThinkShootRun Dreamcast

  • @ThinkShootRun

There are are many great ports of SFZ3 the PSX port isn't perfect but it's damn impressive considering the hardware limitations

  • great game, i would make sweet love to it if i could.

  • when it comes to this version, Sega Saturn puts PS1 to shame.

  • zero haves guile to the begins.. alpha no.... PAL GAMES SUCKS :s

  • nope ... sega saturn & dreamcast has guile and evil ryu from the begginig ... psx not ,

wathever is pal , jap or us ;)

  • nope in the pal psx you can find guile with a trick ;)

  • would love to see a version comparisment of al street fighter alpha 3 games,i cant do it cause i dont own them al.

  • Your reviews over at the MagicBox Forums seem to be a pretty big hit for the users over there (it's as if you're king of the forums in that place). The Sega Saturn version of the game does look quite good for its graphics, and the sound is nice, also (it's intriguing to read that it had visual effects that weren't present even in the Dreamcast version). I wonder which characters were in this port that were not present in the arcade original? The modes for this game were nicely demostrated here.

  • @OceanBlueKirby Is this better than the Street Fighter Anthology version on PS2?

  • Consensus wise, I don't really know. You might want to compare the two for yourself and see which version appears better to you.

  • @capcom4eva Street Fighter Zero 3 on SF Alpha Anthology/ Zero Fighter's generation is good but the controls are clunky and stiff. Plus it's hard to pull off hyper combo moves, you have to press the button combination that the hyper comber move(s) require multiple times.

  • Comment removed

  • @capcom4eva Street Fighter Alpha Anthology is good to have if you're gonna play one alpha/game after the other, but the best way to play them is on the 32 bit systems.

  • @Mevrok100 or on sega dreamcast ;-) which is the master version of street fighter alpha 3. GIRL POWER!
