My earlier comments about Shabir's conflicting arguments can best be seen from his debate with Dave Hunt, wherein Shabir was trying to prove that Yahweh is a God of violence and Allah a God of peace. It would be evidently clear that Shabir's assertion that Allah and Yahweh are the same God are incongruent and incoherent.
Having heard most of his debates, Shabir seems to be promoting the idea that Allah in the Koran is the same God as Yahweh in the Bible. However, in this debate, he has projected Allah as the God of peace and attack Yahweh as the God of violence. His beliefs and arguments seems to be at odds with one another. It would be pretty obvious from his presentation that Allah is not Yahweh.

the most important thing that one can come away from watching this debate is this: it is possible to have civil debate among the religions of the world, especially between Christians and Muslims, where dialogue can often turn into arguement. Shabir shows clearly and kindly over and over again in his debate that the verses which Smith quotes and seem to be violent to him and others obviously aren’t so, moreover he explains plainly some of them and gave more examples,
and the most important thing is the Qur’anic concept of using violent to defend you self and the weaks who are oppressed in order to restore peace, some may be wouldn’t accept that, but that isn’t practical and doesn’t work since bad people and oppressors will be always on this earth till the judgment day, interestingly wherever justifiable violent is mentioned, straight away in the following verse you will find the Qur’an warning you not to exceed the limit of establishing peace.

Having heard most of his debates, Shabir seems to be promoting the idea that Allah in the Koran is the same God as Yahweh in the Bible. However, in this debate, he has projected Allah as the God of peace and attack Yahweh as the God of violence. His beliefs and arguments seems to be at odds with one another. It would be pretty obvious from his presentation that Allah is not Yahweh.

the most important thing that one can come away from watching this debate is this: it is possible to have civil debate among the religions of the world, especially between Christians and Muslims, where dialogue can often turn into arguement. Why link the country with the religion? I live in England but im not a Chrisian because I was born here, im a Christian because I choose to be one.
This 36year old woman, there will always be exceptions and deviant people in any group, when you start isolating these situations and then applying them to a WHOLE religion is when you get a warped idea about a religion.

When Jesus summons the twelve disciples to send them out to proclaim the kingdom of God, he lists the things the disciples should NOT take with them.
1. In Matthew 10:9-10 and Luke 9:3-5, a staff is included in the list of things NOT to take.
2. In contradiction to Matthew and Luke, Mark 6:8 makes a specific exception - the disciples MAY take a staff.
Explain this obvious inconsistency. Why did the Holy Spirit inspire such contradicting instructions? Did God cause this confusion?

Nearly everyone posting responses to this video are claiming to be Christian or Muslem with the right to claim peace, but all I see are people responding with insults due to difference of oppinion. If you people believe your faith preaches a doctrine of peace then there should be no problem respecting another person's belief or oppinion--even if it defers from our own. I don't know why Shabbir Ally hits on the Old Testament which advises beard keeping, circumcision allowing, mass slaughtering and pork forbidding verses as mentioned in the Quran. Jesus changes all that in the New Testament.

@solidarity2205 my point was that different regions of the world at different points in history are more tolerant. middle eastern civilization has been in decline and collapsing for a while now. however, there was a time when islamic countries were more tolerant than christian ones. its not to say that religion A is more violent/peaceful than B but simply, regions become more violent / peaceful regardless of the religion all the time throughout history
