This was the only vampire movie that's ever creeped me out. The first time I watched it I was kicking my legs yelling "Turn it off!" The way he walks, the way he stares, his shadow on the wall - all of it scared me and still does. When he walks toward the camera feels like he's going to come out of the screen.

Lon Chaney Sr starred in a vampire movie that is lost. There are only still photos of it. Someone posted the stills with the remaining audio. It is called London After Midnight. That may have been in 1919. I dont remember what year. But this is the best vampire film made. Your comments are soooo perfect. It does feel like a nightmare especially in the part when the film disolves a little and the images look like ghosts.

I collect old horror films and this is without a doubt the creepiest of my collection (it scares me more than psycho). Max Schreck is the scariest movie vampire to date.

That scene when hutter looks out his bedroom door and sees orlock standing across the room from him then slowly walks up to the door is probably the creepiest scene I've ever seen in a movie.

Amazing film to have that affect on me (I'm 15). I mean it's like 88 years old and it can do that.
