  • @sick360waves I had the opposite experience. I owned a 2008 LTZ 5.3 since new and remember when the cargo box bacame full of packed snow while I was away for two weeks. It was the most sucked-out. I'm not saying the Ford 5.4 wouldn't be the same, but my Chevy was all throttle and going nowhere. You want a beast? Go try an ecoboost F-150 and then we'll talk. That's a beast for towing!

  • I could probably run circles around all of you pricks who think they have a badass Ford, I could outdrive you easily. Just consider this, 1967 Ford Mustang Coupe, due to it being a lighter chassis than the fastback and convertible models. It was used in trans am racing, but never had the power it needed to overtake cars. This is why I chose to put an LS2 into it; all I did to the engine was port and polish the heads, and throttle body, and ported the stock intake, and put a new cam in. 500HP

  • I haven't seen a stock Ford V8 that'd outdo a stock Chevy V8, and what I find funny is the ignorance in all of the people who are bashing Chevy. Compare the Shelby to the ZL1, the ZL1 outperforms it by a massive margine. Don't be such sore losers, the only thing ya'll have (mechanically) on Chevy is the rear axle. Other than that, Chevy always outperforms Ford. That's also why the Chevelle SS 454 dominated the streets.

  • @hamd101aa Ford outsells Chevy because they have large contracts with government companies and commercial companies that need "cost effective" vehicles. The typical comparable Chevy trucks are slightly higher in price due to certain warranties and standardized options. Fords are cheaper to buy because the lack of character and quality parts that go into each one. Simple case of quality over quantity.

  • @KronikWeasel It's not all about bad luck, it's more a game of statistics. I've been working on vehicles all my life and found the most problematic vehicles to be Ford products. I only support what is actually a quality long lasting product, I don't care if it's a Fiat, as long as it withstands the test of time and requires the least amount of money dumped into it. You can be an owner of anything and support it but it's your local mechanic who knows the truth.

  • OK Even if you put the F150 in 4x4 the Chevy will still Win. Why you ask. The chevy comes with the G80 Rear Locker. The F150 has a limited slip, on some models not all. In the end it comes down to traction. Chevy has lower 4low gears too. Sorry Ford You need to add better tranny and a real Locker not some crap Limited slip.

  • This is the dumbest shit ive seen yet...Allow me to chime in...Chevy uses EATON POSI units...Ford still rocks the limited slip units. As you can see, the Chevys tires are locked, the fords broke loose 1 wheel...understood? Not only that but it appears that is a 6.0 chev not the 5.3...So putting the 6.0 300hp against the 5.4 260hp isnt entirely even in the first place. Put it against chevys 235hp 5.3 LS rear vs LS rear and see what happens. Ford would rip that POS chevy garbage in half...

When a dealership, who claims that their product is superior, has to resort to obvious fixing, something that even a high school physics education can proove, it really speaks volumes about the product being advertised. In the end, only the uneducated will believe this to be a legitimate contest. And the rest will laugh at them and/or pity them.

  • Amen, Sargent. Hell, a little Ford Ranger could pull that Silverado if they intentionally spin the tires on the Chevy while holding the brakes on the Ranger.   • I've never heard of "truck-pulling" until about 10 minutes ago. Now I've watched a handful of videos, and even though I'm a COMPLETE ROOKIE, I can tell you that whoever starts spinning their tires first LOSES.

    In this case, Silverado holds the breaks until F-150's tires are spinning, then takes it for a drag. Pretty sure the F-150 could have done the exact same thing.

  • @454apache to answer your second question ..why do fords have sbc in them ..i'll tell you why ..that is done by guys who are not brand loyal and like the old fords and like most [sheeple] they fallow the crowd and put sbc in them ..or it is done by chevy guys them selfs cuzz i have seen it a million times..alot of you chevy guys seem to love our fords from back in the day so you take our cars but being chevy ppl you put sbc in them ...a diehard ford guy would never do this

  • @390merc65 They put sbc's in them, because they are cheap, easy to mod and work on, and its not hard to get power out of them. Not to mention they are super easy to come by, because gm used them in so many cars and trucks over the years.

  • @390merc65 Why are you talking about big blocks? I was talking about small blocks. Believe me i have a 454 bbc in my truck, i know they aren't that easy to come by cheap. And i didn't say a chevy was easier to work on than a ford. i said that sbc was an easy engine to work on in general. And there are tons of 10 bolts around. almost every 1/2 ton pickup chevy has every made since the 70's has one. i'll agree that the 9 inches are stronger, but u had no point comparing them to 10,or 12 bolt diffs

  • @454apache i was just making some points..every older engine is easy to work on ..they are all about the same .and yes there is a ton of 10 bolts around..but there are alot of 9's around to since 1957 ..and i think i do have a point about the 9 ..its a good rear ,,and real easy to work on ..you can remove the 3rd member and work on it..or swap it out real easy over a10or12 bolt

Ford didn't have a ohv small block till 1962. care to explain that??? And the 2 motors aren't even close to being the same. if your theory is correct small block ford's and chevy's should have interchangable parts, but they dont.

  • I'm a Ford guy and all..But ALL automakers do this kind of thing at some point or another. Fact is, for the most part the general public is pretty ignorant to things like Tug o Wars or whatever. They see one brand of truck beating another in a Tug o war and think ''oh man! Brand A is so much better than Brand B'' without ever thinking about what actually happened.   • well, if yall think that it was an unfair fight with it being in 4X4 and being a 4 door, which the 4 door arguement is bogus since the ford was an extended cab, they should have gotten a better ford to match it, or should have put it in 4 wheel himself. half of what makes trucks go is the driver.

  • @NevadaWrangler The 4 door argument may not be bogus. After all, a truck with a full length 4 door cab does weigh more than a shorter extended cab truck, and weight does help add pulling traction on pavement.

I don't think so the ford isn't in four wheel drive just because it says on the fender doesn't mean it on and the guy in the chevy Holds the brake till the wheels spin on the ford so the chevy can take off and make it look like it was easy also the chevy looks like a 3/4 ton and not a 1/2 ton. It's just a trick to promote Chevrolet anyone can make any truck look good by doing this

  • the ford definatly is in 2x4 but it never shows the chevy off the start so u cant tell if its in 4wd cause when it shows the chevy its already gripin.

  • This is put on bu a chevy place obviously, the chevy looks like a 2500 in 4wd, and the ford is a 150 in 2wd, cheap as hell, anyways, truck pulls prove nothing about how good a TRUCK is.

    That doesn't prove anything. GM has been using 6 lug axles for years. Ford just chooses not to for their half ton trucks.
