loved this show when i was a kid so sad so many of the old shows are almost forgotten now what a shame.even tv land does not show the really good stuff.some how they think there is not a market for the ol shows.but there is one just look rick in georgia
Okay, Bristol-Myers, the makers of "Bufferin" {often pitched in their commercials during that time by Joseph Cotten}, was an "alternate sponsor", 'pgh' ["'BROADSIDE'- is brought to you by....Bristol-Myers, makers of Bufferin, 'The Modern Drug For Headache Pain'"]. You probably remember a bottle of Bufferin appearing in the lower corner of the closing credits when it originally appeared on ABC.
"BROADSIDE" was a spin-off of "McHALE'S NAVY", airing on Sunday nights at 8:30pm(et), right after "WAGON TRAIN". Its competition, CBS' "ED SULLIVAN SHOW" and NBC's "BILL DANA SHOW" [soon replaced by the more-successful "BRANDED"] all but guaranteed this series lasted no more than one season. At 2:22, there would have been a sponsor I.D. {"'BROADSIDE'- brought to you by..."}, followed by a one minute commercial.
So this is a show about hot navy women who are also mechanics? ...I'm in.

Bufferin used to be Broadside's TV sponsor. (I don't quite understand how or why I remember that fact.)
