I've made a number of films using this cam, and I think its great - more so in manual mode together with creative use of the white balance feature. I've found setting the white balance using an slightly off blue colour card offers rich colour without saturation.

Hi! This test clip is just great! May I ask you for a tip? I really want to start making short films, so I'd love getting a Sony HDR-FX-1, but its expensive)), so I thought of the GZ-HD-7. Are there other cameras to take a closer look at if you have about the price of GZ-HD-7 and want to shoot quality videos? With manual features, small number of mpixels and large ccd size? dude.. dont buy this camera, i hve it watch my vis .. the cam is great but there are greater cameras that are cheaper. i recomend you the canon hv40, im up to sell my everio and buy the canon. the canon use hdv tape wich is more used than hard drive and can be edited in pro software like final cut. and the canon records at 24p 30p and 60i,

you have to think if minidv is a good investiment too, like, I tried to use minidv, spend a lot of money buying firewire cards because the quality with USB is poor, and you are luck if your pc recognize a firewire card, because they are very hard to work properly. It's another history if you have an MAC, but I'm off minidv and I'm going to a HD fullhd camera

I used Vegas 9 color filters combined with brightness/contrast work to highlight the colors from each shot. The camera itself captures amazing color alone, but not quite like this without special lighting.

I'm thinking of either getting this camera or a canon hv30. I don't know which to get though. I love the look and focus ring of the hd7 but haven't really heard much else about this camera. Is there anything that you don't like about it?

I'm sure you could do better :b. I can't tell you all of what I used, or my powers as a magician might diminish. But I do seem to remember using a sepia filter plugin of some kind, heavily effected by brightness and contrast, and something else.... Oh well. I can't seem to remember.
