there is your problem your in an eclipse lol jk that noise happens when you dont have a silencer ring in the turbo it actually increases the psi without it so go for it keep on drivin and get rid of the eclipse i hate mine lol

Thats a leak from one of the couplers.

What ended up happening? The whistling sounds could be a leak. Check all connections and if all those are good then the turbo needs to be pulled out and checked

CHECK OUT THE BLADES IN THE TURBO THEY MUST BE COOKED OR IF NT TRY A INTERCOLLER PUT ONE ON ITS MUCH BETTER AND LONG LASTING FOR THE TURBO

2 things there , u either have a leak on one of the gaskets between block to manifold or manifol d turbo or turbo to dump, chek all of them , if not that... ur turbo is takin its last breaths simple as that...

k good, cuz i put a really small audi 2.4 turbo on my 3.0 mercury sable and it sounds like a jet plane. it leaks alittle oil into the compressor side, but since its a rear mount turbo with its own oil tank. i have nothing to really worry about it except it burning oil. and the shaft has alittle movement side to side, but its whatever. i got the turbo for 40 bucks.lol

bet u its the bearing when turbos whine and whistle with a loud hi pitch sound its the bearings gone bad

what does it mean when it squeaks? i just got a new vacuum pump after my turbo not workin for a year maybe more, it has a strange squeak. kind of like a belt squeak but from the turbo? its a 6.5 TD

if it makes the same sound as this vid your bearings are no good probablly thats whats going on well double check where that noise is make absolutely sure that thats the problem

all i heard in this vid was the turbo running and what sounded like a camera shake when he shifted. You know when you hear a cars serp belt squeak? its kind of like that but doesnt get louder when the RPMs go up. Because I have a belt squeak when i first start the truck but goes after a while. the other squeak is probably the turbo cuz its always there and the turbo hasnt worked n a year from a bad vacuum pump.

as already said but i thought it was an air leak/crack in either the pipe going into the inter cooler or the pipe going to the throttle body from the interooler

wow what a coincidence all the sudden i started having this gay noise at 30-60 km/h and it stops at exatly 60 it's odd... This was after i bent the two botton fin layers from the turbo intercooler....

sounds like u had the same problem my uncle had with his subaru the hose had a split and the turbo sounded exactly like that and it seriously affected the power he got it replaced and was fine

im not an expert but i think ramman1505 is right there has to be air leaking out somewhere which accounts for the whistle.

my 97 gst has never made that sound...it sounds like a turbo diesel trucks turbo...
