I know Dave obviously knows what he's talking about but I always thought keeping your feet flat was the best form? is it legal to bench like Dave and Josh are doing (not flat footed)? some great tips I'm enjoying these videos.
@michaelthomascallaha Its people who think they know what the fuck they are doing, but in reality they are benching with flat backs and heals to the floor lol
You start with your eyes under the bar, then after you slide through and do a pull up to set up with weight on the traps, where does your eye position be at that point? back under the bar?
What to do for wrist hyperextension? I can't keep my wrist in line with my elbow to save my life, with or without wraps. 3:40 that's me to the nth degree. Everytime I "straighten" them, I feel like the bar's out of control and it's gonna fall on me, versus feeling more stable looking really ugly hyperextended.
@Sixvicious If you're talking about the back arch: it's better explained if you watch all the videos. Basically, it decreases the distance the barbell has to travel (from lockout to chest and back). Especially for Josh with a shoulder problem, it also helps to keep the elbows from going below the bench. When the elbows go below the bench you're overextending and can risk shoulder injury, especially with really heavy weights. Also, keeping the back/lats tight helps to increase the bench weight.
Some people have their feet flat others have just the toes touching. I'm wondering if if matters which way you do it???

Why is it that some lifters have their ass off the bench? Does it serve any other purpose than to shorten the ROM?

This was great. He slammed the bar when he was done like he just set a personal record. Cant wait to use these techniques in the gym.

@Sixvicious, if it's easier, go heavier. If it's heavier, you just got stronger
