  • Some people have their feet flat others have just the toes touching. I'm wondering if if matters which way you do it???

  • is dave lifting his ass from the bench? i was always taught to keep the ass to the bench >.< No wonder I cant get that arch dave gets..

  • so do u squeeze the bench with your knees

  • what does he mean by "raw" bencher or lifter?

  • @brazilianspiritzz without any gear such as a bench shirt

  • Why is it that some lifters have their ass off the bench? Does it serve any other purpose than to shorten the ROM?

  • I'm really struggling with keeping my wrists straight... It feels natural for my wrists to move back?

  • @ScottWarley88 i heard you can get arthritis or help advance that if you grip with ur wrists back

  • I know Dave obviously knows what he's talking about but I always thought keeping your feet flat was the best form? is it legal to bench like Dave and Josh are doing (not flat footed)? some great tips I'm enjoying these videos.

  • Who are the idiots disliking these videos?

  • @michaelthomascallaha Its people who think they know what the fuck they are doing, but in reality they are benching with flat backs and heals to the floor lol

  • @phantumgrey you should bench with heels on the floor

  • You start with your eyes under the bar, then after you slide through and do a pull up to set up with weight on the traps, where does your eye position be at that point? back under the bar?

  • @789654123 the bar is over your chest so your actually look down a bit to see the bar

  • Holy shit! That's a nice side step that we witness @ 3:00 !

  • What to do for wrist hyperextension? I can't keep my wrist in line with my elbow to save my life, with or without wraps. 3:40 that's me to the nth degree. Everytime I "straighten" them, I feel like the bar's out of control and it's gonna fall on me, versus feeling more stable looking really ugly hyperextended.

  • This was great. He slammed the bar when he was done like he just set a personal record. Cant wait to use these techniques in the gym.

  • @Sixvicious, if it's easier, go heavier. If it's heavier, you just got stronger

  • @JobforaQuinnBoy thanks for the additional info.

  • I dcnt get it, this looks much easier than flat back bench, why cheat yourself?

  • @Sixvicious If you're talking about the back arch: it's better explained if you watch all the videos. Basically, it decreases the distance the barbell has to travel (from lockout to chest and back). Especially for Josh with a shoulder problem, it also helps to keep the elbows from going below the bench. When the elbows go below the bench you're overextending and can risk shoulder injury, especially with really heavy weights. Also, keeping the back/lats tight helps to increase the bench weight.

  • So funny to see him getting all set up to bench 95

  • 4:14 setting up the bench

  • Dave Tate is the man. Thanks for the 6 weeks bench press cure on Tnation, i improved my bench by 45 pounds in six weeks thanks alot

  • Great videos thanks

  • Dave Tate is the absolute best at explaining benching.
