I love the let's stick together on and this each version has it's own personal charm! I find the bete noire version best I was disappointed it wasn't on youtube it was a hard job and i haven't had much time to check everything but have the bete noire version on my Limboesque channel if anyone want to see it.
Who know's but i had both albums back in the day and liked both versions. I guess the CL track is a more in yer face harder sound. He's done that with a few tracks,i.e. manifesto etc. Still manages to make them sound good. Viva!
Yeah! Bryan is amazing! Even better with ROXY MUSIC!! lol
Look out for a CD album coming our Roxy Music Re-visited from Burning Sky Records in the USA "Take refuge in pleasure" has great new versions of Roxy songs covered by new up and coming artists!
Obviously this album is not aimed at blinkered people like you! Nobody is even trying or claiming to do a better version of Roxy Music songs! These songs different just like when Bryan Ferry covered songs by WAIT FOR IT! THE BEATLES,JOHN LENNON,BOB DYLAN,SMOKEY ROBINSON,WILSON PICKETT, ROLLING STONES, BEACH BOYS,,DOBIE GRAY & SAM COOKE etc and the rest of Roxy released various cover all great songs enjoyed by people like me but not original songs and mainly not better then the original!
Agreed, but still, it can be interesting to hear how others approach RM songs the way Ferry reinterpreted the works of others. Like Thom Yorke's take on Ladytron or Johnette Napolitano's version of Mother of Pearl.
Mr Ferry the biggest Casanova of them all. The object of the very first celebrity crush I ever had at the age of 11. Not to mention the things I used to think of doing with him as a teenager and even now in my late 30s the thoughts still linger....charming....exquisite and one of the most amazing musicians ever.
Lets Stick Togther is my favourite Bryan Ferry album. Casanova's the coolest track on the record. It'd be swell to have a video of him performing the song 2HB.
Long live the Casanova!

Why would we want to listen to someone other than Roxy doing Roxy songs? Nobody else is going to do them as well as they can.
