  • I will NEVER tire of hearing this song.

  • one of canada's finest !!!

  • We liked this song on the other side of the Lakes, too!

  • THANK YOU!!!!!! Brought back so many memories!!!

  • @TheArnold267 You're welcome.

  • wonderful!!!

  • great music!!!!! ,,,pagliaro ..where were you...man such a great talent...god bless you

  • He could sing to me the rest of my life and I'd be a very happy putty tat , Love him!

  • he sounds like one of the beatles singing

  • A great song by a great Quebecois.

  • always loved this song--on vinyl somewhere in my house.

  • @lanceporter CKXL was better for rock and roll during the pre- FM radio era.

  • I have only recently discovered the brilliance of Mr. Pagliaro - this song gives me CHILLS! I knew "What the Hell I Got" from my summers in Upstate NY when I used to pick up great Canadian radio stations such as CHML and CKLW but this one is my favorite. He should've been HUGE!

  • I knew at least one good thing came out of Quebec.

  • @Harmonlisa LOL

  • i consider this song one of the best in rock and roll history... its beautifully built and is so exquisitely haunting ... awesome stuff.

  • I had to search for this because I was sure it had to be a George Harrison song.

    Great song!

  • The first time I heard this, I thought it was The Beetles.

  • @Stewiegriffinist Oh my goodness, me too! I heard it today on the radio, and before it they played Yer Blues - Beatles and For You Blue - Beatles, so I thought this was one of those!

  • I used to hear this song every so often on an oldies station long ago, but I always seemed to miss the artist or title announced. It came back to mind a few months ago, but my memory of the lyrics were completely mangled, so Google was of no help.

Then, tonight, I'm just chilling with some old Canadian pop tunes on YouTube, and here it pops up on the side - "Some Sing, Some Dance". I feel like a small portion of my sanity has finally come back, and I get to hear a great old song again!

  • .....oops. Trying to lie about my age. It was the summer of '72 that I was in Quebec and fell in love with this song...

  • I am so thrilled to find this,,,, so many memories of Quebec in the summer of '74. I signed up for YouTube just for this. But I really want to download the song for my library, and I'm ashamed to admit I don't know how to do it from here. Anyone out there who can describe the process for me?

  • he's hot

  • Thank you, Michel Pagliaro, for such great music...I still can't understand how it is that the USA doesn't know about you

  • Sounds similar to George Harrison's solo stuff.

  • @BaggedGnome Great comparison...Wouldn't have noticed had it not been for you

  • I always thought this was McCartney and Wings growing up. But I eventually found out it was the one and only Pag - best, most underrated, hardly ever mentioned Canadian rocker.

  • Great music, ain't it!

He did bring many innovations in Music writing. I wonder why kids arn't making use of any...

  • I was recently looking for Pag and found all his great songs here.

I forgot this one - thanks so much for loading and giving us all our old memories!

  • @rdctwens You're welcome.

  • Typically ignored by those south of the border.

  • Another good Canadian boy !!!

  • OMG I have remembered this song since (and loved it) 74-5 Couldn't remember the name of it so took forever to find it, and "The Hell I Got". Michel Pagliaro fan always. Thanks for the uploads. Peace, Irie.

  • @obamagirl1961 You're welcome.

  • I love this song. It made me a fan of Pagliaro. A truly under-rated Canadian talent:)

  • great tune, one that makes me stop and think back every time i hear it.

  • Love his music--still!

  • well go to the store and buy his cd rip it on your comp and put it on your ipod itunes can go F$%k it self beacuse of that you cant find a decent music store anymore, I miss when buying a new cd was an awesome thing and you could play it all day

  • some sing some dance some rock at romance i just love you now those r lyrics my friend

  • Sounds a lot like the Beatles in this song:)

  • This stuff is BEAUTIFULLY produced. It is really like the Phil Spector sound of Canada. Wall of sound.

  • @roquefortfiles That was very well said!

  • I'm sure I'm going to get some flex for saying this, but I wish he'd get his French-Canadian butt out to Vancouver. I'd LOVE to see him in concert.

  • anyone know the right chords for this gem, i gotta play it

  • Im a HUGE FAN of PAGLIARO, and am so disgraced with iTunes for NOT having this song nor the Songwritter on its library...Shame! shame! shame!

  • @TheShannon1970 You can download it free by clicking on the link in the video description.

  • @TheShannon1970 I wonder if it's available in Quebec; there must be s specific iTunes because of all the French language music they produce.

  • @TheShannon1970 Hi there. I'm sure itunes would have his music if he allowed it. I love his music too, but you will only be able to buy it in Quebec as I understand it. You can't even find him in record stores outside Quebec, which I'm told is his choice. I was in Montreal with my family at new years, and my main goal was to pick up maybe a greatest hits album. All I could find was a complete box set for $75....it's still in Montreal. Too bad, a lot of us love his music.

  • Just heard this song on a Tim olyphant movie now the quest to catch this gem begins

  • I share the similar stories here but the difference in mine is that I had forgotten about it untill at work one day last year it came on the radio .... but only part of it so i tried to pick up lyrics and I heard some of them wrong so took me forever to actually type the proper lyrics to find the song (which I am still debating wether he sings "Some sing Some Dance some ?lack? of romance... "I love ?love?..?you?"....even the lyrics on the net can't seem to agree with each other lol......

  • Thank you!

  • @zelenko55 You're welcome.

  • My fav Pags tune. Absolute brilliance.

  • i've always loved the production on this song. I have the single. Pags ROCKS!!!

  • My favorite song from Pags. Great production from '72!

  • My favorite song from Pags. Great production from 72".

  • Like the other folks posting, I too kind of lost track of this great song. Now and the I would hear it on the radio stations specializing in the oldies from the 60s and 70s. Thanks for putting it out there. It takes me back to my high school days in 72. A much more innocent time when I was still feeling and experiencing things more authentically. When I hear the song now it re awakens that authentic self and reminds me of the importance of trying to be in that groove as much as possible.

  • @mrjhon1997 You're welcome.

  • @mrjhon1997 That's the beauty about good music,it make's you live and remember "frozen in time"if you will. I remember listening to this in the early part of the 80's and just made me stop everything i was doing, that's the power of this great piece of music.

  • 2:43?! THATS IT?

    wish it was longer..

  • This is a beautiful song that should have had more air time, when it did come on the radio it froze time and moved me on the inside. It will with stand the test of time!

  • i just married my wife and soon after was diagnosed with cancer,,,this song help us endure th pain, we played it on 8 track in the hospital room,,, thanks Pag ,,

she died peacefully three months later with the song playing.

  • where can i buy this, looking everywhere!!?

  • this song reminds me of my girlfriend , shes my best friend, not much of a story but if it wasnt for people like you who share the music then people like me would be a little lost for the lack of a better term, thank you for sharing!

  • I had a memory of this song from childhood, growing up in Southern Ontario...my mom sang to everything on the radio. Last week, I was listening to Galaxy 70's and heard it. Frantically I ran to the TV to catch the display. Thak you so much for posting so I could listen again!

  • When I was a teenager in 1974 there was a song that I loved. I recorded it off the radio on my little tape recorder and played it endlessly. The thing was, I never knew the name of the song, or who sang it. One day the tape broke and the song was lost to me. Eventually, the memory of the song faded so I couldn't really remember it well. All I knew was there was a song I loved out there somewhere. THIS WAS THAT SONG!!! It took me 35 years to find it again, Thank you so much!

  • @karve01234 You're welcome! Thanks for the great story.

  • @DarkSeven09 This story i sure a coincidence, i did exactly the same thing.

  • @zedonefan Me too. I think a lot of people share this story.

  • @DarkSeven09

    Cool :)

You all know how frustrating it was then. I could only remember the general feel of the song and the 'oo you' part. Not much to go on. The worst part was, I couldn't look for it in the record stores or ask about it because I didn't know what I was looking for! I also knew it was 'Beatle-ish' but I knew it wasn't them..I had all their stuff. I'm so glad to have it back again. I WON"T lose it again! :) PS Sorry about the carppy math. It was 1972, 39 years ago!! Even longer!

  • i always thought it was paul mccartney too- thats probably why i could never find it :)

  • Michal Pagliaro is from Canada, I never knew that, right on:)

  • gonna play the guitar and sing this at next house party!

  • I always thought this was one of the Beatles. Perhaps McCartney and Wings. What a relief.

  • @CindyVision I liked McCartney & Wings.

  • Nice to see Pag is remembered!

    Gosh, what a musician...

  • This is by far his best song and there are many good ones for sure, IMO

  • 23 thousand views and zero dislikes, alright.

  • What a cool song! Sometimes I love Quebec

  • Michel, fils fier du Québec. Sacré dieu, vous avez rendu la 'rock quebecois' célèbre partout dans le monde. Vous êtes formidable!

  • Thanks for this song, so inventive, was an instant favourite of mine back in 1972.

  • love it, love it, love it. thanks for posting it. it takes me back and it feels great.

  • Pagliaro is genius.

  • Great...just great!

  • the best of pag thank you merci

  • Love it!

  • powerpop perfection!

  • have always loved this song! Could listen to it over and over.

  • Psychedelic Psundays !!

  • When did this one come out?

My memory of Pagliaro is from the early '70s. I am familiar with this song, but my ageing brain isn't giving me a year for this tune.

  • Great song Michael Pagliaro :)

For some reason it reminds of the group "Flash & the Pan".

  • As an American, I feel totally deprived that I never heard of this guy, because I happened to grow up on the wrong side of some national or linguistic border.

  • love it - still!

  • This is a great song!

  • Pag isn't on iTunes.....sigh

  • a good rock singer

    bravo pag

  • Any ideas on where I can legally download this?

  • @govern0r

are you on mac or pc?

  • @trombonisteau mac.

  • @govern0r

i tried to post a website, but can't ...send me your email to my utoob box?

  • love this

  • For kids like me in the 70's in Quebec, there was Beatles, The Stones and PAG!

  • Pag is but one of many overlooked and unappreciated Canadian singers. It wasn't until I was an adult that is started to connect with the rockin history of Canadian rock and roll. Thanks man soooo cool.

  • I love this song, it's so early solo george harrison- era rock. AWESOME rep of canadian rock!

  • I remember buying this album way back in 1975 (or thereabouts) and playing it continuously! LOVE this song!!

  • I was doing the dishes this morning and this song was on the radio. It was perfect! Thanks for posting! I don't think I appreciated it when it came out but I sure appreciate it now.
