  • thats crazy how a fire can start without anybody doing anything to start it...this is only a sign and start to whats going to become and happen...ive never seen a wildfire before in my entire 22 yrs of living but the fact that it started from the extreme heat only makes me wonder what it'll be like in the summer of 2012....god bless those that survive the fires and may those that passed away from it rest in piece

  • This video's a real tear jerker.

  • Man that is just sad even crying is here to be

  • great video, awesome soundtrack for what its worth, being a firefighter myself i lend a thanks to my brother over in texas who fight these fire and to all firefighters, these fires dont just happen in texas, here in south georgia we've been struggling as well stay safe out there!

  • I'm intrigued by the music you used on this video. What is the name of the first song or who is the artist?

  • Thank you so much for your video i was born in tx but havent been back in years i live in ny now my hometown is gettin burned and my new one is getting flooded..... brought tears to my eyes

  • Is all the footage from the Bastrop County fire?

  • @DianeWeissert some of it is but its also from the east texas fires were i live. theres also some from the panhandle fires.

  • @DianeWeissert dont forget down here south to

  • Here is my comment saying "Thank you" to all of the brave firefighters, fires have been occurring in the close area where I live! Texas must stay strong!

  • A well done video montage..... haunting images and music. BTW, who does the music?

  • This is scary. I live in Smithville so I was Really close to it. This is so sad. Thank you to all that made donations! We appreciate them!

  • I live in Fayette county Texas, beautiful vid , well done, God Bless Ya'll , praying for rain this weekedn

  • Investigators later found the source of the fire to be approximately 3 lemons

  • I wounder if this is why certain areas in the country have no trees. Becuase after all the trees that are burnt but still standing get cut down.

  • @Astromchaser IT mainly caused by the dramatic change in temp such as in the panhandle it can go from 100 in the day to 20 at night

  • @Astromchaser texas used to be grasslands with hardly no trees , wildfires cleared the land everyyear , now after years of fire control mother nature is back to clear the land again

  • My sister and Niece live in Texas. I have been praying.

    They are safe thank God.

I have sent my video around hoping to get help there.

I will also share yours if it is ok.

    Peace

    Diana

  • FEMA today started lending help to people In my area. so thank you for all your prayers. seems like someone noticed we need help. also 100% of the major fires have been contained but people are still homeless and short on everyday needs so dont give up yet. GOD BLESS

  • After looking at aerial photos and satalite imagery, this fire was a rolling vortex. Basically a fire tornado layed on it's side. There was nothing anyone could really do in the first 24hrs to stop it. "Gods wrath"?...I would say a blessing, that it did not occure during the night. Instead of two deaths there would have been many more. I always look for the positives...I see it as a blessing because GOD gave us the time to evac people out of the area. Possessions can be replaced but not lives.

  • Gods wrath is upon us

  • this occured the very next day after i made that video of same sex marriage. Coincidence? not in a million years!!

  • my horse died and could not go back for him

  • This is a good and powerful video but only two people died, not hundreds. Still a tragedy but please correct the opening.

  • This hit home in many places.. A good friend lost his Child and childs mother in the fires her in East Texas... Our guys did amazing!! The community pulled together.. Donating money for gas and donating water, drinks and first aid supplies..

  • This should be such a bigger deal that people are acting...I hear about problems in other countries so much more than I do our own.

  • I'm a firefighter on the Avinger VFD. There's no feeling like fighting fire on your neighbors house knowing yours is in the line of the fire not 2 miles down the road. We could have never saved the houses we did without the help and support from our fellow fire departments and comunities.

  • God Bless ALL our firefighters!!

  • I lived in Bastrop for 20 years and have been keeping up with what is going on there through my two daughters who live in Austin. I have watched many of the videos on youtube but this is by far the most compelling and the only one that made me cry. Thank you for making this awesome video. And, by the way, the soundtrack is perfect!

  • WOW...great video it show just how bad the fire was and at the end where they show the animals it just dosent seam real it looks fake but sadly its not....

  • Wow! I think you pretty much summed it all up - devistation! Great capturing of the wildfires! Very sad!

  • I am soooo PROUD of you, Josh. I love that you trying so hard to make a such a difference. You did an awesome job with this video. I AM HONORED TO BE YOUR SISTER! I love you [:

  • This is one of the best videos that I have seen of the fires in Bastrop. We will be sharing it on our JCI LIVE AUSTIN television program on Channel 11 Thursday Sept 15th at 7 PM.

  • 1991: Al Gore: "... the seas will rise as much as 20 feet."

2011: Measurement of sea level rise 20 YEARS LATER: 0.0 ft.

Simply Amazing. ITS ALL ABOUT CREATING A GLOBAL GOVERNMENT TAX BASE.

  • As a native Texan this breaks my heart to see my beloved home state burning and the lives, homes and livelihoods lost.

  • As a native Texan this breaks my heart to see my beloved home state burning and the lives, homes and livlihoods lost.

  • Me and my family were in the Rhonesboro fire, in upshur county, we all made it out safe, and we began to pray. When we returned, the fire had burned all around our house , but it never touched our house, and we thank the lord for that.

  • Thanks for making this video. I saw some folks didn't like the soundtrack. For what its worth, I did :) Have a great day!

  • @jobabe83 Thanks

  • FEMA and RedCross are there. Also there are tons of businesses, venders, venues, etc hosting benefits and accepting donations, cash, food, clothing, furniture, household items. God Bless Texas.

  • i'm sorry for the people of texas and there losses...it is tragic..i am equaly sorry for the bad sound track..

  • PLEASE like fav and share this video so The whole world can see what its like in Texas. I know dozens of people who lost everything they have. Texas NEEDS HELP and we are not getting it form are government or FEMA. I also really appreciate all the comments you have left and cant believe how much people care. so once again like fav and share this video and GOD BLESS YOU AND ALL OF TEXAS

  • I hope it rains and the winds stop blowing.

  • wish we could send all this rain in Pennsylvania down your way. hang in there guys.

  • this is so sad

  • Meanwhile, Rick Perry denies global warming, prays for rain, cuts fire department funds by 75% AND runs for president...

How does he have any remaining credibility?

  • if you do another vid. please don't put music on it. the sound of fire is more riveting..stay safe

  • I live in Portugal

One day i have this dream a tree, a single tree burning alone without help.

It is how we live, trees burning without help, and people laughing for our lonelyness.

In the same day that the fires of TX beggining same dream return.

The message is that someone whabts us to think that we are alone.

And that someone is called nanny, state, government, or idioticy.

Keep awekened because fire will return in mass, that was only a warning.

  • is it comming twords houston???

  • These fires are a hidden blessing. They clean up the forest floor and they teach us where we should not be building homes.

  • @RobertMOdell Obviously you personally were not affected.....to show such little compassion. This is probably not the site for your well meaning (I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt) life lessons.

  • @RobertMOdell After reading your further posts....I give up. You are lost.

  • @carijotx I'm anything but lost. Perhaps you can't remember where I showed a lack of compassion because your head is too busy spinning as you realize you've been played by the global warming alarmists.

  • @RobertMOdell I replying to offer you a huge apology...I had your comments mixed up with those that are being played by the alarmists...btw... well put. Gore and his cult followers drive me insane with their lack of information.... is it ignorance or stupidity? The facts are available to all. Once again, sorry for my ill placed reply and rude comment. That's what I get for multi tasking...and doing nothing well!

  • @carijotx Apology accepted. The chief global warming alarmist, Gore, is anything BUT ignorant, insane, or stupid. He is a brilliant charlitan who makes money by channeling government policy toward his investments. The America we once knew is gone. Whether or not we ever get it back depends on how mad the people will get (if they do at all), how soon they ditch Dem and GOP, and whether they will ever stop counterfeit money's control over government.

  • @carijotx Since I'm a man of faith, I'll also put it another way... Al Gore is an extortioner, a liar, a theif, and a swindler. Such men will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Al Gore needs to forsake his life of sin, bow to Jesus Christ and seek His forgiveness. The riches of this world do not buy contentment, nor are they worth flushing his soul down the toilet.

  • @RobertMOdell That you should speak of who will or won't enter heaven, as if you know what God knows.

  • @Lemquennel I made no such prediction. How do I know whether or not Al Gore is going to repent?

  • @RobertMOdell How about you don't even know whether or not he needs to repent

  • @Lemquennel Everyone who sins needs to repent. Al Gore is no exception. He needs to.

  • @RobertMOdell Teach us where we should not be building homes? As in, you think anywhere is safe from its inevitable destruction and therefor its all a blessing? You're not a religious man, though you might claim to be

  • @Lemquennel As I said, hurricanes provide tropical moisture that limits the intensity of fire season. Its all normal and very regular patterns of nature. Nothing to fear at all.

  • If we don't act on global warming, fires like these will happen more and more.

  • @crewzinratch The earth has been cooling for 15 years now. Get over it.

  • @RobertMOdell 2010 was the hottest year on record, 2011 will likely end up hotter. You should check your facts.

  • @crewzinratch No, 1998 was the hottest on record. But that is besides the point. Neither global warming nor cooling by 0.02 degrees has had ANY impact on fires in Texas or anywhere else. These fires were caused by a local pattern of drought, not heat. In other parts of the USA, there have been local patterns of rain. It has been a decade of low hurricane activity. We need more hurricanes to bring more late-summer rains again.

  • @RobertMOdell - I disagree. Countless global climate models show that as temperature rises, some pars of the world will become more vulnerable to draught, and the southwestern U.S. is one of the areas likeliest for this to happen in. Also, Hurricane Irene and the floods in Vermont are clear evidence that we're not lacking for hurricanes. According to scientists (who have no reason to be lying) Earth temperatures are higher now by 1 degree since 1900, which doesn't sound like much....

  • @crewzinratch So, you're saying that 1 hurricane is too many? Seriously? Hurricanes are a natural phenomenon and are part of the natural way that tropical moisture makes its way into Texas. You will also note that the "dust bowl" days in the southwestern US occured before all this global warming. OOPS! The weather has been calming down, not getting worse.

  • @RobertMOdell No, 1 hurricane by itself is no big deal, though when that hurricane ravishes a place as far north as Vermont it might be worth scratching your head a little bit as to why... add to that the extreme snow storms that hit the East Coast this winter, last years devastating floods in Pakistan and Russia's severe wild fires and drought and we begin to see a pattern. You don't have to believe the scientists or me, but unfortunately for us all time will prove us right.

  • @crewzinratch You have got to be kidding me. EVERY hurricane strikes as far north as vermont. The only difference is, if it strikes land first farther south it it weakened. The only think notable about Irene was that it AVOIDED LANDFALL for so long but still made landfall. If you knew anything about hurricanes you would know how they track and are taken in an easterly direction - which is the ONLY reason they rarely make landfall in new england.

  • @crewzinratch The reality about global warming is that the earth still has about 5 degrees of warming before the earth returns to its normal temperature. The earth has been warming in EACH of the last 42 centuries, as we continue to pull out of this little blip called the ICE AGE. Warnings about storms is just fear mongering. Things will continue to calm down as earths temps return to normal in the coming millenia. There have ALWAYS been storms. There has ALWAYS been climate change.

  • @RobertMOdell - But considering that world wide weather is already the most severe in the history of civilization with just a 1 degree Fahrenheit rise. And the fact that most models predict temperatures will rise at least 3 - 9 degrees (Fahrenheit) over the next 90 years suggests that we should at least pause to consider the ramifications.

What will we do when the Corn belt is no longer in the U.S. but in central Canada?

  • 290 and Jones. Just as of yesterday we started to get ashes very lightly falling on our car. I'm very sorry to hear about your house. God bless.

  • So sad, but the Bible foretold this ~ do an internet search ~ 10212011EndsIT ~ May God bless us all in these difficult & trying times~! Amen

  • I used to live in Houston and still have family and friends down there. In Fort Worth now and Possum Kingdom lake area is burning here...again. This has been a bad year for Texas.

  • i meant i live in Houston...=p

  • i like in houston and i can smell and see smoke everywhere near hwy 6 today the smell is so great its crazy

  • @LusciousTutorials It smells Like hickory I could smell it at first but i got used to it (?_?)

  • This is so so sad. Brought tears to my eyes. God please be with these families and fire fighters. Please bring Texas some rain.

  • Powerful video showing the destruction from several different vantage points and perspectives. Definitely worth watching without question.

  • This is no joke.. Neither are the other fires around Texas. First responders -- Firemen, Police & Paramedics are working their butts off to fight these fires and save lives, regardless if their own houses are being burned in the meantime. Lives are being lost. It's no joke. Thank you for your time and dedication. Everything is bigger and better in Texas.. who gives a rats ass about what that jerk thinks.

  • I'm from Austin and seeing this makes me cry. I cannot begin to imagine what these poor people are going through. Thank you for making the video to bring awareness to this catastrophe. But just being aware is no good unless actions are taken to help theses people. I understand times are tough for everyone, but if everyone could help donate then we can make a big difference. Please help through prayer and donations. God Bless Texas.

  • @planetearth1210 I am a wildland firefighter. I worked the initial attack on the Bastrop Complex fire. I saw several homes destroyed to include a close friend of mine. This friend of mine is also a firefighter. When he heard his house was threatened he did not drop everything and go running to his house. He stayed on his assignment and hoped for the best. I saw neighbors and strangers reach out to each other. When I see you put down my state and home, you show your true ignorance.

  • @jameskanevsky Thank you for pointing out to people that this is no joke. its real and people like you and your friend risk there lives to protect people like me and for that i thank you

  • @planetearth1210 It's ignorant people like you that make America look bad. This is a huge tragedy due to a drought, and here you want to berate Texans and call them Hillbillies? Get with the program you incompetent fool we are in the 21st century. AND what the hell does a persons lifestyle have to do with the fires that are going on? Absolutely NOTHING.. Not everyone can just pick up all of their belongings and move to another part of the country, especially in this economy today. Grow up!!

  • never seen a fire this bad before

  • i live near austin, i see the smoke every day. it's terrible...

  • man i live in tx and we have several fires pop up everyweek this summer it seems...there are black patches everywhere its crazy..def keep tx in prayer
