So this is still such a kick-ass version of "Turn to Stone". I'm wondering if there's anyone out there who was at this show. It must of been incredible? Ya out there?
So lets think about how many times Felder and Walsh played this tune live and yet this is the only version out on the net. There's gotta be some more out there somewhere. Love to see some more!
@thewindowguy1 I would agree that yes there would have been no Eagles without them, but to label them as musical Gods is a little ridiculous. Any freakin' joe can strum a guitar and bang a drum.
@nellie1302 omg im a drummer and a singer and sing almost identical to henley... still not one of those youtube jerks who starts cussing and acting like a nut but seriously... the songs that henley and frey wrote.... cmon now
@thewindowguy1 and no not everyone can play guitar or play drums frey was not an awesome guitar player henley was not an awesome drummer it was their vocals and song writing abilities that made the eagles great...... including walsh meisner and felder
Who in the heck cares when or where this was? That freaky guy on drums is one of the best songwriters who ever lived! Read Don Felders book about the Eagles. He says the same thing about Don Henley. If you care to go back and read my earlier comments...This is one of the best guitar duets of all time!!
Are you kidding here. Don is the man, and w/Joe this version rocks the house. Plus they look like they're havin' a blast. Don Henley and Glen Frey can suck their own cocks. They need to get a clue. The Eagles died when Felder got the boot. PERIOD!!!!
@thewindowguy1 I still am holding my ground and have to say what did Don and Glen do so extraordinary? Oh that's right they manipulatively took over control of Eagles Inc. and rubbed out Don Felder. Don is basically a session drummer with a mild writing ability and Glen should've stuck with the Beverly Hills Cop gig he had. I'm sorry these guys have minimal musical talent contributions to the group other than they were and are the front men of the group. Let's just play the tape from time 4:36!
@dawnjakeleah That doesn't even dignify a response, yet the fact you would post/compare "Get over it" to this epic version of "Turn to Stone" says it ALL.
@thewindowguy1 i agree they did do them wrong but cmon don henley has one of the best voices known to man and henley and frey wrote amazing stuff and they are really the backbone of the band felder is awesome too though... either way definitely my favorite band ever
This is such a gem. I can't believe Henley and Frey gave Felder the boot. I hope he took them to the cleaners. Notice he didn't sue Walsh. This solo is unbelievable. Walsh and Felder just punch through the whole F*&%in song. Amazing!!!!
I saw this 1977 tour stop at the Omni in Atlanta at the way too young age of 15. They actually opened with Hotel CA but this mind numbing solo work and even the mega classic Rocky MT. WAY were roof lifters....well, almost literally anyway. And at that time I went in as a hard core Eagle's fan just glad Joe was now a part of the show! FANTABULOUS!!!! One of my favs!
Does anyone know what live dvd this on. Where did they perform this. I have found site with classic eagles, but I don't know where they were performing this song. Thanks.
The Eagles were already very popular when Walsh joined them. He took them to another level. They would never have been as hugely successful if it weren't for Joe Walsh. He ranks up there with the best guitar players of all time.
I love watching this song, not only because it is awesome, but Joe makes you laugh with his onstage personality

Awesome tone Felder gets. How is he gettin' that? One of the best solos in memory.

Where was this recorded? I saw them in Virginia when I was 17. It would be cool if this was that concert.

Don Felder is an underrated guitar genius. What a shame that Joe Walsh took his thunder away, given Joe's outgoing showmanship....Felder is low key.

Why is everyone praising Joe Walsh. Don Felder is the one doing most of the lead playing in this song.
