you guys should have seen the flood in southheart. we have 1 main road and 3 dirt roads out of town. the 3 dirt road were destroyed and the main road was flooded.

southhear was literally an island for about 3 days

mandan, bizmarck and a few other towns/cities flooded the heart river flooded and a few carp got trapped in a pond and alot of people just threw them on the bank i was nice and threw them in the river =)

The people of new orleans could not prepare, they had to evacuate because there was a hurricane on the way with high winds and tornadoes on the way. In New Orleans , we can stay and "prepare", we have to leave, those that don't leave, they DIE in their attics.

Please people have some compassion, some empathy about people living in their communities, their families, many generations, their churches, their culture, everything they know and love. That is what people in NOLA have lost.

I am totally amazed at the negative comments. Fargo, and the areas surrouding it, are beautiful. I lived up there for 5 years. The people are kind and hard working. I see the attraction to this community and all it has to offer, as evidenced by the vast support that has come about to brace for the flood. How can you blame someone for wanting to live in such a beautiful area? Every place has its natural disasters. Just pitch in and help, and someday your kindness will be returned!

She's right I'm from Mandan and I've helped with the sandbagging effort here and its nice to see the community working together to help those in need. Yes, we all know that Fargo floods a lot and some people probably shouldnt live where they do but that doesnt mean you sit and bitch about not helping because of them knowing the consequences of living there.
