  • @TheDevilArt To uninstall Folder Lock, you will have to log into your locker after entering correct password, only then you can uninstall it by using its Options

  • Hi. How can I uninstall folder lock? When I click options it says that I need to enter the correct password.

  • Yes, for security reason uninstall is also password protected. To uninstall the program simply enter your password and then go to option and click uninstall button.

  • thanks dude.

  • Folder Lock's latest version is out with enhanced functionality. You can download the new version from the official website.

  • what will happen if i uninstall that program?

  • Uninstalling Folder Lock will simple remove the program from your system without harming anything. You must unlock or decrypt your data before you uninstall Folder Lock.

  • Welcome

  • you will need a uninstaller fo it but if you uninstall folder lock your data in folder lock will be deleted

  • NO, your data will not be deleted, when you uninstall Folder Lock, all your locked files will get unlock on their existing location.

  • @keshavv12 thanks :)

  • Welcome

  • How does folder lock work with 3rd party backup software that already has built-in encryption of its own? Let's say I restore a previously encrypted Folder Lock file from my backup on a USB drive, will I have to use Folder Lock again to decrypt and view it?

Also what happens if my computer dies and I install Folder Lock on a new machine and then restore all the data which I had previously protected by Folder Lock installed on the old machine? Will I still be able to decrypt it successfully?

  • You can take secure backup of your encrypted files but it is recommended that you dont use any other third party encryption software. Folder Lock uses US military standard 256-bit AES on-the-fly encryption and stored your data in encrypted lockers which are fully portable so that you can take secure backup of your files and can also send it over email. You do not need to install Folder Lock on the other end to access your encrypted data.

  • If you want to protect your files in USB drive you can avail our 'Portable Security' feature. To do that, all you have to do is create a Locker and put your data in it, after that open your Locker and then use 'Move to USB' or 'Copy to USB' option after clicking 'Portability', your Locker will be moved / copied depending on the option that you select and a Fl-Usb-Console will be installed on your removable drive which you can use to open your Locker anywhere without installing Folder Lock.

  • You can run the FL USB.exe directly to access the locker if you have Auto Play Feature disabled. While if you have Auto Play Feature enabled, as soon as you plug in your USB drive to your PC, it will asks you for the locker path and the correct password.

  • Folder Lock assures you the security of your personal and private data even if your computer crashes. Data protected with Encrypt feature is kept inside the Lockers (*.flk files) so all you have to do is keep these Lockers backed up in a secure location, in case you computer crashes your data would still be secure and you can restore them to your computer any time.

  • If I back up a locker .flk file with some documents then my computer dies, then I restore the .flk file onto my NEW computer, I would still need to reinstall Folder Lock on the new machine to decrypt the .flk file yes? If so, would the software be able to decrypt a file that had been encrypted on a different machine or is this irrelevant? Also, would my existing licence key still be valid in the event of a computer crash and I need to use the same key for installing software on a new machine?

  • this is great, i havent used it yet, but, can someone delete the folders/files that the encrypts?

  • You can try its FREE trial version. NO no one can delete your files that you have encrypted and / or locked. Furthermore, 'Locker' in which Folder Locker keeps your protected data cannot be deleted, moved or copied that ensures complete security of your protected files and folders.

  • i have to complain about folder locker...huh!! I am running this software, the previous version on my PC(vista). Whenever i search for a file in my computer, all the protected files shows up in the search results...GOD DAMN IT !! WHY ???

  • As Folder Lock 5x was released prior to Vista, the new architectural changes and the online updates effected the functionality of Folder Lock 5x and make it less efficient on this platform.

Please try our latest version Folder Lock 6 with a better Locking mehcanism and unbreakable 'Encryption' , enahance features like virtual keyboard, Folder Lock Usb Console and much more.

  • does the tryal version ever expire?

  • yes you can use it ofr 25 times then it expires

  • Folder Lock has an option to protect USB devices, you an choose it as per your need
